If it weren't for my dad, I wouldn't have the passion for comic books and collectibles I do now. We would visit Alternate Worlds in Cockeysville, Maryland, for years, to pick up our weekly pull box. I would devour my comics on the way home in the car, despite my dad's best efforts to tell me to space them out so I would have something to read through the week. It didn't work, but I admire his conviction. We read different comics back then. I was into manga and Archie, and he enjoyed Captain America, Wolverine, and the occasional mini-series (KISS and Ultimate Warrior, especially).

Now my dad buys his books online, and I frequent Collector's Corner in Parkville, MD. We no longer argue about my reading speed, but rather, about what Golden Age books look interesting. We both have a vested interest in Original Art, and homage monster covers. And while my dad certainly has it all, each Father's Day I'm left scrambling to find something new for him! If you're like me and are also looking for that perfect gift, here are some great items that super dads everywhere will love!

Jada Toys Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Metalfig Keychain 4 Pack

Sometimes small gifts can be the most thoughtful -- especially for the person who has everything. This four-pack of die-cast Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles keychains doubles as both a collectible and something your dad can use daily. Based on the Nickelodeon carton designs, this four-pack contains the turtles we've been fans of since the 80s: Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo, and Michelangelo. I've been a fan of Jada Toys for some time. They produce high-quality die-cast collectibles that won't break the bank with their prices. This keychain set can be found at your local BJ's for under $10.

Kylo Ren Lightsaber Hilt

While Kylo Ren didn't have the best relationship with his dad, one can't deny that his Lightsaber hilt is pretty great. This specific saber comes from Disney's Galaxy's Edge, which can be found in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. So if you're unable to get to the parks, you can still get your dad one hell of a Star Wars gift. Each hilt from Galaxy's Edge comes in a sturdy display box that will keep the piece protected. The lightsaber itself is not included but can be purchased separately.

We have a few of the Galaxy's Edge hilts in our collections, and they are remarkable pieces. They are highly detailed and heavy and display extremely well. This is on the pricier side at $159.99, but they are absolutely worth the price!

Star Trek The Original Series Delta Bottle Stopper Set of 3

Star Trek boldly went where no one had gone before when the series aired on September 8, 1966. The series would have an impact on my father, who would be inspired to start a Star Trek fan club at his college. He still collects Star Trek items to this day and will insist that The Original Series is the best Star Trek (he also genuinely loves Enterprise). Since his collection is rather large, finding things for him can be difficult. My dad also does not drink alcohol, but he would display this Delta Bottle Stopper set.

Featuring the iconic badges for command, science, and operations. If you're unsure of what those represent - Captain Kirk would wear the gold badge, Mr. Spock would wear the blue badge, and Scotty would wear red. If your dad doesn't drink these are still great for glass water bottles, and to display! At $39.99 they're at a good price point as well.

Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey

If your dad does enjoy a nice bold drink now and again, you can't go wrong with a solid Irish whiskey. Teeling's Single Malt Irish Whiskey has notes of tropical fruits and caramelized sugar and has just a touch of chocolate. This whiskey is great as an after-dinner drink, or as a celebrated dad drink. Whiskey can also be very collectible, so if your dad is looking to start a whiskey collection of his own, this would be the perfect place to start.
