Collectors have long been waiting for the Silver Surfer to enter the MCU. The herald of Galactus is one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Universe. He, of course, appeared in the 2007 20th Century Fox film, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, but that feels like a lifetime ago. Marvel Studios now owns the rights to the character. The surfer has more than held his own against some of the strongest characters in the MCU. And once he hits the big screen, these battle issues could be in for a significant price increase.

Tales to Astonish #93 - Vs. The Hulk

There is no stronger character in Marvel comics than The Hulk. In this 1967 issue, Bruce Banner had to take on Norrin Radd. The Hulk was hoping that the galactic surfer could take him to a planet where his life could be less troubled. When the surfer refused his request, Hulk attacked him.

This battle against the green goliath proved just how powerful Norrin Radd really was as he was able to knock the Hulk unconscious. This 1967 issue features an awesome cover from Marie Severin and can be purchased in a CGC 8.0 grade for around $600.

Silver Surfer #4 - Vs. Thor

The Silver Surfer wields the power cosmic, which means that he essentially has the power of a god. In order for someone to go toe to toe with him, they should probably have similar power sets. Thor boasts the power of a god, of course, so he certainly makes an intersting foil for Galactus' herald.

In addition to a battle between the two gods, the book is famed for its incredible John Buscema cover. The book has held its strong value over the years and a CGC 8.0 today goes for around $1,500.

Silver Surfer #15 - Vs. The Human Torch

The Silver Surfer was obviously known to the Fantastic Four prior to this issue since he made his first appearance in Fantastic Four 48. In this issue, the Surfer came to New York to ask the team for help. He mishears a conversation and believes they mean to attack him. He battles with Johnny Storm and dispatches him, though he later overhears a conversation where the Torch said he meant to seek out his help.

The issue comes in much less than the others on this list as a copy in a CGC 8.0 only runs for about $85

Silver Surfer #18 - Vs. The Inhumans

The Inhumans are ferociously protective of their home city of Attilan. So when the Silver Surfer crash lands in Attilan, the evil Maximus devises a plan to attack the surfer and engage the city's heroes. After Norrin fights Medusa and Karnak, Maximus launches his fight. The Surfer is able to escape from Attilan on his board, speeding past the powerful Black Bolt.

This tale was written by Stan Lee and penciled by Jack Kirby. Making it even more collectible is an awesome cover which was also done by King Kirby. A CGC 8.0 copy of the book will sell for around

Silver Surfer #14 - Vs. Spider-Man

The cosmic herald encounters Spider-Man in this 1970 issue written by Stan Lee and drawn by John Buscema. Spidey is at first hostile toward the Silver Surfer and attempts to engage him in a fight. The army also attempts to fire against the surfer while he has a young boy on his board. Norrin Radd proves his heroism to Spidey by shielding the child from the fire.

This issue is readily available wherever you buy your vintage comic books. The issue can be had in a CGC 8.0 for between $300 and $400.
