From June 22 - 25 Heritage is giving collectors a chance to win some impressive books, original art, and memorabilia in their Comic and Comic Art Signature Auction. These auctions are a ton of fun to participate in and watch, and sometimes certain items can go for record-breaking prices.  There are hundreds of items in this auction, so let's take a look at some of the gems you may have overlooked!

Batman and Superman Unopened Ideal Card Games Lot of Two

The Ideal Batman and Superman card games gave DC fans of all ages a chance to play as their favorite superheroes. This game was perfect for 2 to 4 players, and the cards feature Batman, Robin, and a number of Bat accessories.

Individually graded cards sell for around $300 each on eBay, while complete versions of this game are listed for $450. The Superman game is fairly similar but features a wider variety of character cards. A complete example of this game last sold on eBay for $149 in April 2023.

Heritage notes that this lot does have signs of wear, but the cards and game pieces are like-new. I could see this lot selling for over $600 as this is a unique find, but it realized $504 in the end.

Superman #6 CGC Restored 6.5

Early Superman comics are some of the most desirable comics in the world of collecting, especially when it's an iconic cover. This simple yellow cover has Superman front and center, with a remark from the man of steel himself in the corner. This is one of my favorite Superman covers from the Golden Age, but it's also one of the more expensive books. To date, CGC has graded 248 copies across all color codes, with the majority of books receiving a blue label.

This CGC purple label 6.5 has slight restoration and off-white pages. Heritage notes that the restoration includes a spine split sealed to cover. A blue-label 6.5 example has a current fair market value of $6,250. While there is no sales data for a restored example, restored books tend to sell for less than half of their blue-label counterparts.

This copy closed at $4,080, a respectable showing.  This is a book that is almost always in demand, so if you're looking at this book as an investment piece you should fare well -- as long as you sit on the book for a while.

The Brave and the Bold #54 CGC Universal 9.6

Every so often a Silver Age book will stop me in my tracks -- and this book absolutely did. The Brave and the Bold #54 marks the first appearance of the Teen Titans, which included Kid Flash, Robin, and Aqualad. The Teen Titans would go on to become one of the most recognizable DC superhero groups thanks to the popular comic series and the even more popular cartoon shows. The Teen Titans are still popular to this day, with Teen Titans Go being a hit with younger viewers.

This CGC blue label 9.6 has White pages and presents extremely well. To date, CGC has graded 1,425 copies, with only two grading at a 9.8. There are currently 10 9.6 examples, but this book is still a grail for many. This copy closed at $36,000, the second-highest sale in this grade.
