Age Of Ultron #4Age of Ultron #4 of 10
Marvel Comics
Bendis, Hitch, Neary & Mounts

The Age of Ultron event continues to tell a slow and rather uninteresting story. This specific issue drifts into the territory of below average with some bad looking art making for a rather poor grade. Basically, the book gathers some of the surviving heroes into an area of strength: The Savage Land. Not much else happens. It's really not that good.

Luke Cage makes an offering to Ultron in the form of She-Hulk. Apparently Ultron will trade things for heroes and somehow the heroes assume Ultron would allow a hero to walk away from that sort of exchange. Turns out Ultron isn't really "here" though, as its Vision. Cage escapes and manages to tell the surviving heroes this information. Miraculously the heroes use this knowledge to come up with a time jumping plan to find and kill off Ultron. The plot simply doesn't make any sense. How will they find him? Why didn't they think of time jumping before to undo this? This is so uninspiring because it's been done to death with Apocalypse, Cable and dozens of others.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle ReviewsThe artwork takes a turn for the worse in this comic because Hitch hits a new low with anatomy. Arms, legs, heads and many other body parts look awkward and unnatural in this comic. Specifically Luke Cage. He appears to be wearing an ill-fitting dome on his head that could be hovering above his head. I believe it is his hair but that is debatable. This is not Hitch's best work. Not by a long shot.

Age of Ultron is shaping up to be one of the worst stories I've read in years. I simply can't believe how slow the story is moving and, yet, it still manages to not make sense. Characters are talked about as being dead when they are clearly showing up on panels in previous comics. The examples are too numerous as to why you should not read this comic book. I truly believe this book will redeem itself and read better in collected versions, but as a single issue story it's dreadful. Hitch can't save this by drawing destroyed cities every fifth page.
