Kick-Ass 2 issue number six stretches things out to set up the big finale in the next issue. This issue really only gets the heavy hitters into the same place at the same time to make sure everyone is going to end up bloody by the next issue. It's an average Kick-Ass comic book that really feels like this series should have been shortened by a couple of issues. Sure, the book is entertaining, which is all you can ask for, but it doesn't really bring much new to the arc. The big issue hasn't hit yet.

The beginning of the issue has Hit-Girl rescuing Dave. These pages provide some action and plenty of blood. Once Dave in the van is secured they head into the headquarters of the bad guys.

The headquarters is mostly empty because they are about to destroy the city with violence. Essentially, only the villains that are earmarked for the party afterwards remain. Dave and Hit-Girl do some torturing to find out the master plan and they phone it in to their connections on the police force.

The book ends with a showdown between the wannabe heroes and the wannabe-turned-real villains because a series of diversions were triggered all over the city that had the police force scrambling in different directions.

The book is fine. It's gory, it's funny and it's exciting. The only problem is that nothing really happens and not a lot has happened for large chunks of this series. This isn't the only comic book to stretch things out but when you compare this to the original Kick-Ass series where something big happened in each issue you have some letdowns. This is one of those letdowns.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle ReviewsDespite the fact that Romita Jr seems to be barely be involved in the art I found the book to look lovely. All of the blood and guts looked just as horrific here as in any other book in either series. The panels where teeth and eyes are being exploded out of heads are particularly eye-popping (pun intended). The book is not for the fainthearted and this is a credit to the artwork.

Kick-Ass 2 is going to end with a huge brawl and there is going to be plenty of death and plenty of shockers. This is not that issue. This issue is your average Mark Millar comic book unfortunately, but that is still better than many, many others.
