Wolverine teams up with another hero out on the street as the scientists try figure out a way to cure the problem. While this is going on the book shows more and more Marvel heroes falling victim to the plague. This book doesn’t contain nearly as much killing as the first issue but it has a great cliffhanger to put the whole epidemic into perspective. The artwork continues to put forth a gruesome visual story as the known world slowly falls apart. Once again, this is an apocalyptic book that should not be missed.

Wolverine continues to feel crushed by his actions in the previous issue where he killed off the diseased X-Men. He keeps hanging out with the Fantastic Four and company as they try to figure out the cause and cure for the plague. They identify where it all started from and they dispatch Wolverine to find the Punisher.

I enjoyed this part of the book the most because it intertwined with the previous mini-series so well. The Punisher mini-series seemed to have picked up after some many more heroes (and people) were killed that it was interesting to see how the Punisher was at the beginning of all of this as this book shows. The Punisher is clearly of the mindset that the only way to control this is to kill all those that are infected whereas Wolverine is still thinking it can be cured and contained. Viewpoints change by the end of the book.

The Punisher and Wolverine have terrific chemistry in this book which also helps to make the issue that much more fun. The pair make for a great team as the world crumbles around them. The end of the issue pushes this series into overdrive making the next issue something that can’t be missed.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle ReviewsThe book is not for the faint hearted. The visuals don’t hold back at all as some of the scenes show infected and dead children, just as the first issue. The high point of the artwork is the details on the characters faces on the last few pages during the cliffhanger. The dark and dreary look to the artwork fits the book to perfection. This comic book’s art is equal to the terrific story.

This mini-series is stacking up nicely against last year’s Punisher one. Overall, the book provides a very entertaining story that has terrific character interactions, a fair amount of action and some twisted heartache, particularly at the end. This is definitely a book that any fan of the end-of-the-world or horror genres should not miss.
