Hey there, fellow collector! Let’s talk about something we all know but rarely admit: collecting is a deeply personal flex. Whether it’s comics, posters, games, or beyond, your collection is an extension of you.

But here’s the deal: what’s the fun in hoarding all that awesomeness if no one gets to see it? Unless, of course, your ultimate goal is to guard your treasures in secret while plotting domination (no judgment if that’s your vibe). For the rest of us, it’s time to step out of the shadows and let our collections shine!

That’s why GoCollect just leveled up your collector game, again. We’re unleashing a long overdue feature that has been painfully lacking, and spoiler alert—it’s awesome. Now, you get to choose whether your Lists are Private (for those "hands-off-my-stuff" vibes) or Public (to show the world what you’re made of). Let’s dive into why this matters, how it works, and what’s coming next.

Why Go Public?

Imagine this: your wishlist, your dream collection, and your hard-earned treasures all laid out for the world to see—and maybe, just maybe, someone out there needs to see this, and has exactly what you’re looking for. Making your Lists Public is like turning your collection into the ultimate calling card.

But there’s more. We’re toying around with some seriously nifty ideas like rolling out a badge and award system to recognize your collecting prowess. Flex hard enough, and you might just snag a community badge or win awards for your legendary lists. Bragging rights? Oh, they’ll be yours.

And here’s the cherry on top: you can now show off your collectibles with high-resolution image scans of your actual items. No more uploading generic stock photos of some mint-condition issue when your copy’s been lovingly dog-eared through countless adventures. We’re talking the real deal—every crease, every smudge, every whisper of history. Your collection tells a story, and we want to see every single page.

For far too long, collectors like you have had to rely on clunky workarounds to share your passion on social media. Well, not anymore. With GoCollect’s new feature, you can showcase your Public Profile Page directly on Instagram, Facebook, X, or wherever else you want. This isn’t just a new way to share your collectibles—it’s a whole new era of collector clout.

How to Get Started

Let’s cut to the chase—making your profile and Lists Public is super simple. Here’s the play-by-play:

1. Head to Your Account Settings

Remember that little icon in the top-right corner where you used to upload your profile picture? We’ve upgraded it. That’s now your Profile Hub.

  • Click on it, and you’ll see a new tab called Account Settings. That will take you here https://gocollect.com/user/profile.

  • Here, you can set up your username (pro tip: grab something cool before it’s taken), write a bio, and decide whether you want your profile page to be publicly enabled.

  • You can also add links directly to all social channels you manage from your GoCollect Profile Page now. Let those who admire your collection turn their curiosity into connection.

Don’t forget, your username has to be unique—so... Time to get creative!

2. Make Your Lists Public

Now that your profile is ready to rock, head over to Lists & Trackers. You’ll notice shiny new options next to your Lists.

  • Pick a List (or two, or three) and open it up.

  • Switch the status from Private to Public.

  • Boom! You’re now sharing your collection with the world.

If you’re the shy type, no pressure—keeping your Lists Private is totally fine. But if you’re ready to show off your wishlist or let others marvel at your treasures, flipping that switch unlocks a whole new realm of possibilities.

What’s Next?

This is just the beginning. GoCollect’s Public Lists feature is a springboard for exciting updates down the line. Think of it like a collector’s social network where your passions, dreams, and accomplishments take center stage.

Here’s what’s cooking:

  • Badges and Awards: Your Public Lists could earn you recognition from the collector community. Have the most epic comic collection? Win a badge. Curated the perfect movie-poster wishlist? Badge incoming.

  • Wishlist Matching: Ever played GoFish? Now imagine that but with GoCollect. By making your wishlist public, you’re inviting other collectors to help you complete it—and who knows, your dream piece could be just a message away.

  • Communication with other Collectors: We’ve been in this together for years, but most of us have never interacted directly. We’re laying the foundation for a public space where collectors can communicate, share, and connect. Perhaps a personalized feed featuring recent comments, articles you have published, collectibles that were just “liked,” and updates from your favorite GoCollect bloggers.

These ideas are still in early stages, but present a fun concept we’d love to explore further with your involvement and your support.

All this said, here's a little disclaimer: GoCollect will not be monitoring any messages for sales or trades. To remain a completely unbiased resource, we have no intention of facilitating transactions. Our goal is to help you showcase your passion and connect with fellow collectors, but what happens beyond GoCollect is entirely up to you. Keep it fun, and keep it friendly.

Let’s be real: collecting is equal parts art, science, and straight-up fun. Sharing your passion amplifies the joy.
