It is with great anticipation that GoCollect introduces the next part of our journey. This marks the moment where we combine all of what we have learned, the reputation and trust that we have earned, and where we fully invite YOU to participate in the total transparency of the collectibles market.
Welcome to the inaugural day of Crowd-Reported Sales on GoCollect
Yes, you read that right. And yes, it means exactly what it sounds like. But we're going to break it down piece-by-piece, because we know this might sound like you've just awoken inside a collector’s marketplace dream.
GoCollect is now allowing YOU to RECORD SALES directly to our website under a very special new Tab we’ve designed. In fact, think of this Tab more like a portal—a gateway where all of the information you wish was being compiled and recorded is now finally being compiled and recorded. But it’s more than that. This portal has been built for you to maintain, to grow, to steward, and to take pride in. It is yours to use—unlimited, unfiltered, and built on trust.
Quick heads up—you do need to be a GoCollect member to enter sales, but guess what? Membership is 100% FREE.
We’re talking about recording sales anywhere they take place. And boy do we ever mean it.
Because let’s be honest: the collectibles market doesn’t just live on eBay. It’s not confined to auction houses or sleek marketplaces. Some of the most exciting, unique, and valuable deals are happening every day in spaces that the broader market simply can’t see—until now.
Check this out: there’s a vast number of mediums where collectible sales are going down in real-time—sales that have never been officially captured or preserved. Think big-time Instagram sellers, TikTok and YouTube livestreamers, sellers on Facebook groups or Discord marketplaces, dealers at comic shows and conventions, and of course, the quiet power of brick-and-mortar comic shops that serve local collectors every day.
Until now, GoCollect had no way to record or display these sales for you. But that changes today.
This is the feature the market has been waiting for. A way to capture the entire spectrum of the collector economy—not just the sales that pass through algorithmically scannable marketplaces, but the ones that take place in DMs, across dealer tables, and over late-night phone calls.
Did you low-key pick up a grail you were chasing at a local estate auction? Did you scoop it from your hometown comic shop? Maybe you scored big from a vendor table at New York Comic Con or sold it directly to another collector in a parking lot handshake deal. Wherever the transaction took place, if you’re a GoCollect member, you now have the power to upload that sale to our platform.
Show it off. Log it. Teach from it. Let others learn what’s really happening in this space—not just the headline-making auctions, but the real deals collectors are making every day. This is where the Crowd-Reported Sales tab comes to life.
Why We Built This
Let’s be clear: this new feature exists because we trust you.
The GoCollect community has always been built on integrity, knowledge, and a shared love of the hobby. So we're giving you the keys to something never done before at this scale: a crowdsourced, user-maintained, fully transparent record of sales from every corner of the collectibles world. This isn’t a gimmick. This is a movement.
We’ve seen the gaps in the data. We’ve heard your requests. And we’ve long recognized that the most valuable parts of the market are often happening in places our standard data collection simply can’t reach. So we created something brand new—a dedicated space for these overlooked, under-recorded, and too-often-forgotten transactions to be captured.
That’s why Crowd-Reported Sales exists completely separate from our regular pricing flow. These sales will not impact FMV or CPI—but they will be stored, displayed, and searchable in their own section, serving as a living archive of sales that otherwise would be lost to time.
How It Works
Crowd-Reported Sales is simple and intuitive to use. To get started, just head to the page on GoCollect for the item you want to report a sale for—whether it’s a comic, a Pokémon card, a video game, a pulp magazine, concert poster, or any collectible we track. Once you're there, hit the "Crowd-Reported" button and you’re in.
Each entry includes:
The item sold (comic, video game, trading card, etc.)
Its grade, condition, and details
Final sale price
The location and type of sale (e.g. Instagram, convention, Facebook Marketplace, local shop, private deal, etc.)
Date of sale
Optional image uploads or proof of sale
A link directly to you, or whoever enters the data
Any discrepancies are reviewed by our moderation team, and the community itself has the ability to flag any questionable data for further review. This light-touch system ensures transparency and accountability, while still allowing the diverse range of collectible sales to be represented fairly and openly.
Our philosophy is simple: if the community is informed and engaged, the data stays honest.
The Benefits to You—and the Hobby
So, what does this mean for you?
For starters, you gain insight into sales you’d otherwise never see. Imagine being able to search a specific issue and see not just auction house prices, but real-world deals struck in stores, at shows, or online through community forums. This is next-level data—real, grassroots market intelligence that can help you buy smarter, sell smarter, and understand the hobby more deeply.
Second, you’re helping to build a permanent, crowd-driven archive of market activity. That means rare and often pricey comics that sold at a single convention, unique and in-demand video games traded among collectors, or obscure magazines purchased in a private sale no longer disappear into the ether. Instead, they’re captured, recorded, and remembered.
Third, it promotes YOU. Whether you're an individual collector, a shop owner, an Instagram seller, or a livestream host—every sale you enter includes a custom link back to you. That URL can point to your Instagram, TikTok, website, eBay store, or wherever you want people to find you. So when others in the community view your sale, they’re also seeing your brand, your platform, your identity. It’s organic promotion built right into the system—rewarding your transparency with visibility and reach.
And finally, you’re elevating the conversation. You’re teaching the next generation of collectors where to look, how to hunt, and what’s really out there beyond the obvious platforms. Because maybe the best deal isn’t on eBay. Maybe it’s in a Facebook group. Or a local flea market. Or buried in a dealer box at a regional show.
With Crowd-Reported Sales, you have the tools to tell that story.
