It’s a Marvel! Feast your eyes on this $1.2m Eye of Agamotto at New York Comic Con, hosted by Metropolis Comics and Collectibles with East Continental Gems.

The Eye of Agamotto, a legendary artifact belonging to Marvel Comics’ Doctor Strange that played a key role in “The Avengers: Infinity War,” is coming to New York Comic Con (NYCC) in all its gold-and-emerald glory.

This one-of-a-kind Eye of Agamotto, valued at $1.2 million, is composed of a patina brass base with an 18-karat gold front casing housing an extremely rare 19-carat African emerald. It’s being shown by Metropolis Comics and Collectibles in collaboration with East Continental Gems, official Marvel licensors. They recently sold it to a group of collectors, who will be represented by Malcolm Edwards.

The Eye can be viewed from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, October 13, at Metropolis Comics and Collectibles booth #3535 at NYCC.

In the Marvel canon, the eponymous Eye of Agamotto was created by the first Sorcerer Supreme. It holds the Time Stone, one of six Infinity Stones, which grants the ability to manipulate probabilities and time.

The villain Thanos goes on a quest to collect all six Infinity Stones to complete the Infinity Gauntlet, the ultimate weapon he will use to exterminate half the population of the known galaxy. (He was just a bit worried about overpopulation.)

The Eye of Agamotto on display at NYCC may not allow time travel, but it still has the power to captivate, says Vincent Zurzolo, president of Metropolis Comics and Collectibles and ComicConnect.com.

“It’s a sight to behold!” he says. “I am so excited to be partnering with East Continental Gems and Malcolm on this rare opportunity.”

Visitors to NYCC can also preorder East Continental Gems’ new bejeweled Infinity Gauntlets, which can be customized with the buyer’s choice of “infinity stones.” For information, email info@eastcontinentalgems.com.

NYCC takes place at the Javits Convention Center October 12-15.
