The much anticipated standalone QUINNELOPE and FRANKIE Sequels will radiate humor, heart, and high stakes.

The press release follows:

Media Release -- Oni Press, the multiple Eisner and Harvey award-winning publisher of best-selling comic books and graphic novels for all ages, is proud to announce that two of their fan-favorite young readers titles will be continuing their adventures in all new stories, debuting in summer 2024!

First: On June 11th, the second laugh-out-loud, stand-alone escapade from comic duo HF Brownfield and Kayla Coombs take middle grade readers on a space mission to perilous planets in Quinnelope and the Mystery of the Missing Moon. Then: On August 27th, Frankie Fairy's latest ecological adventure for young readers encourages exploration and observation in Frankie and the Beastly Bog Song by cartoonist Caitlin Rose Boyle.

After the success of HF Brownfield and Kayla Coomb's debut middle grade humor hit Quinnelope and the Cookie King Catastrophe, Quinnelope and friends are back for the hilarious planet-hopping road trip of a lifetime in Quinnelope and the Mystery of the Missing Moon. As Quinnelope is getting ready for bed one night, she discovers that the moon is mysteriously missing from the sky. There's only one thing to do: launch a space mission to solve the mystery of the missing moon! Along with her dutiful butler, Bub, and loyal companion, Star, the trio blast off on a cosmic adventure to find the missing moon once and for all. Will they be able to find the moon and restore night time once again, or will they be doomed to endure sunny days forever?

In Frankie and the Beastly Bog Song by cartoonist Caitlin Rose Boyle, Frankie Fairy returns to help young readers learn about new ecosystems and creatures such as turtles, moles, frogs, and fireflies in an all-new stand-alone story. Frankie Fairy loves to learn about creepy crawly critters—and this summer she gets the special job as research assistant on her mom's trip to study all sorts of new species. Frankie's mom is her scientist hero, and she wants to do everything she can to impress her! But when the critters start to get a bit too creepy and a bit too crawly, will Frankie be a scaredy fairy or will she be a brave scientist hero like her mom?

"Both of these books are fun, adventurous, and heartwarming, with characters that really shine," said Senior Editor Grace Scheipeter. "I'm thrilled for readers to dive into all new stories with Quinnelope and Frankie Fairy!"

About the creators of Quinnelope: The Mystery of the Missing Moon

HF Brownfield is a curious human, storyteller, illustrator, and parent of three extraordinary offspring. Once upon a time, Brownfield earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education. Since then, their career has taken many surprising twists and turns to places like the coffee world, technology, and marketing. When they aren't writing books, they work in the financial industry and are always scanning the world for creative inspiration (a practice which makes boardroom meetings exceptionally exciting). Brownfield is often found roaming green fields, purple fields, and brown fields in the Pacific Northwest with their kids, partner, and fur babies. They're determined to find Sasquatch one day, but so far he's still winning at hide and seek. Their hobbies include consuming good coffee and embarrassing their children with the silliest dad jokes ever written.

When Kayla Coombs was a kid, she spent hours dreaming up cartoon characters and scribbling stories with crayons. Since then, her artwork has received starred reviews from the BBC, the Kelly Clarkson Show, People magazine, the Webby Awards, and more. Her childhood comics have evolved into a creative career spanning animation, picture books, graphic novels, illustration, and merchandise design. Kayla lives and creates on Wurundjeri land in Melbourne, Australia. She can usually be found rollerskating around her home studio with a pencil in one hand and a cup of tea in the other. Proudly committed to exploring themes of diversity, empowerment, and inclusivity, her stories bring joy to millions of children and adults around the world.
