Welcome back to this week's top pics from Heritage's weekly Sunday and Monday comic book auctions! Heritage holds weekly comic book auctions which feature key issues, overlooked comics, oddball memorabilia items, and more. If you're looking to beef up your collection, these auctions are a must! Here are my top picks for you to watch.

Blackest Night Green Lantern: Hal Jordan Figure

Blackest Night is my personal favorite comic book event. The story pulled in heroes and villains from all over the DC universe, many of them obtaining lantern rings and new powers themselves. Wonder Woman obtained a White Lantern ring, Lex Luthor obtained an Orange Lantern ring, and so on. The crossover event was everywhere from 2008-2009 and is still regarded to this day.

In 2009, fans attending San Diego Comic-Con had a chance to get their hands on this limited edition Green Lantern Blackest Night figure. Only 3000 of these were made in total. This typically sells for under $50 on eBay. Heritage notes this item as being in Excellent Condition.

Platinum Age Comics Group of Two

If you're looking to finally start a Platinum Age collection of your own, this set of two is a great way to start. One lucky winner will get these copies of The Gumps and Mr. and Mrs., which are both unnumbered. These books contain reprints of newspaper strips, but more importantly, were a blueprint for the modern comic.

Heritage notes that Mr. and Mrs. are in poor condition, which is fairly typical for books from this era. The Gumps do not have a noted condition. These would be a great addition for the right collector, but be sure to store these someplace safe and dry (as you would with any other comic). Platinum Age books can usually be found for under $125, regardless of condition, on most auction sites.

The Incredible Hulk #181

The first appearance of Wolverine in The Incredible Hulk #181 is one of the holiest of holy grails from the Bronze Age. Prices for high-grade copies of this book are always high, and with the possibility of Wolverine (and the rest of the X-Men) finally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this book will likely inflate regardless of grade. This blue label CGC 9.0 features off-white to white pages, and while there are 1748 copies graded higher, this is still a copy no one should overlook.

Right now, you may be able to get this book at a "steal", as prices have cooled for high-grade copies within the last 3 months.  The one-year average for 9.0 copies is $10,018, with the 90-day average being $9,726, and the 30-day average is $7,83. Blue label CGC 9.8's, by comparison, have a one-year average of $97,867 with the 90-day average being $100,080 and the 30-day average being $92,000.

If you're looking for a piece for your collection, now is the time to buy. But if you're looking to invest in The Incredible Hulk #181, this is also the time to buy. Thanks to certain Mutants appearing in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it's truly only a matter of time before everyone's favorite Canadian mutant appears with the rest of the MCU.
