The Silver Age continues to dominate the Modern, Copper, and Bronze Ages well into the 21st Century. Yes, new superheroes from the Modern Age will appear Spawn, and Venom jump to mind. But the majority of the Marvel hype has centered around the tried and true older superheroes like Iron Man, Black Panther, and the  Silver Surfer, bringing up the rear. Furthermore, the collecting world agrees with me, at least as far as the ROI and popularity in the top three Silver Age books go. Iron Man #1, FF #52 and FF #48 have taken the vanguard in August for the Silver Age. These tried and true books continue to astonish with their staying power. Iron Man has done four movies as the primary superhero. Then Black Panther had one of the best superhero movies of all time, and Silver Surfer is now under Disney's spell. Can we profit from these big names?

FF #52

This book has been in the top three for the last year, Fantastic Four #52 never loses. Now the first appearance of Black Panther has taken its place as the most popular Silver Age issue for August. The FMV of (9.8) is $80,000 or the price of a small house in Nevada. Still,  this piece is not beyond reach as (6.0) has received $725 FMV price. The return on the Panther is nothing short of ferocious with (9.8) returning 58.3% with (9.0) scoring Vibranium tough returns with positive +232.8%. Then bringing up the rear is fine grade (6.0) at positive +33.3%. The giants of Marvel, Stan Lee (script) and Jack Kirby (art) created this fearsome feline. T'Challa is King of Wakanda and King of the Silver Age as well, numero uno.

Fantastic Four #48

Fantastic Four #48 is one of the hottest titles and currently in second place. The first appearance of Silver Surfer and his master the dreaded Galactus! With a robust fine grade (6.0) FMV at $1200 and the top grade (9.8) scores $41,000 about the price of a brand new SUV preferably Toyota. This book has "heralded" awesome returns with (9.8) returning positive +122.1%, (9.2) near mint minus is the sweet spot with the positive return of +206.7%, and (6.0) fine grade returning positive +158.6%, "by the Power Cosmic" what incredible returns! This is one of the iconic books of the Silver Age for Marvel created by two greats: Stan Lee, and Jack Kirby.

Iron Man #1

Finally, Tony Stark is bringing up the rear in third place with Iron Man #1. This book is the first issue with Iron Man in titled series, with origin retold. Always good to own an origin story key. Written by Archie Goodwin and Gene Colan on pencils. The grade of fine (6.0) has an FMV of $425 and (9.8) FMV is $17,000 not bad for late Silver Age. This comic has a ton of room to run up from here; which is why I picked it to be the featured image. The grade (9.8) mint has a positive return of +130%. While the fine grade of (6.0) returned positive results of +7.4%. Repulsors cannot break through the supremacy of the two comics above, but the obsession with this book is clearly there. There is no big movie on the horizon, though, between awesome movies and Robert Downey actually being Tony Stark, this book will increase in value from here. I would suggest we will see it in the top ten at least until Avengers #4 movie premieres.
