Listen up, GoCollect subscribers. It's time to reveal another very trusted name in our ever-growing data family!
Say hello to CollectorsComics.com. Not only are we here today to re-introduce this amazing vendor to the community, we are here to announce that GoCollect has begun integrating vital Collectors Comics auction and sales results onto our robust database for all of your collecting and investment purposes.
Who Are CollectorsComics.com?
For those unfamiliar or if you’ve missed their auctions in the past, I'll let them quickly bring you up to speed:
Welcome to Collectors Comics! We’re here to bring you what the industry has been lacking. Many of the other comic marketplaces and auction houses have outdated sites and don’t include a lot of the features that have come to be today’s standards. We’re here to solve that by giving you more options, more stats, more connection between collectors & sellers and more ways to find the comics that you love. Our mission is to bring collectors and sellers together to make seamless transactions. We accomplish this in a big way by not bogging down sellers with all of the extravagant fees and overbearing rules. Here, sellers will have more control over their comics and how they are selling them. All of this leads to the collectors getting the best buying experience possible!
Collectors Comics offers a safe, fun, and easy way to buy and sell raw and graded comic books through both auctions and their user-friendly marketplace. They have a beautiful and easily navigable site. They feature weekly auctions (ending every Sunday) chock full of funny-page delights, as well as larger Featured Auctions - like the one we're going to dive into shortly.
Most importantly, Collectors Comics prides themselves as a truly seller-friendly environment. You get to keep all of your sales revenue when you sell on their marketplace. Plus, only a 5% capped fee if you consign to one of their auctions. With a wide range of auctions and an easy-to-use marketplace, they’ve also earned a reputation as a trusted name in the industry. And whether you’re a buyer or a seller, you can enjoy the benefits of no buyer's premium and zero seller fees. That's right — you can list your items for sale with zero fees and no hidden costs.
To break it down:
Marketplace Sales: If you sign up to be a seller on the marketplace, you can sell your items completely free of charge — 0% seller fees.
Auction Sales: If you consign your comics to one of their auctions, there is a 5% final value fee, capped at $500 max per item. This is one of the lowest and most transparent fee structures in the industry.
Sales Are Already Trickling into GoCollect
As mentioned in this recent platform update, GoCollect has initiated a new era of data sharing. The fine folks at Collectors Comics recently became the first marketplace to successfully complete integration with GoCollect's expansive and evolving database. Meaning we've now got completed sales data LIVE on GoCollect from Collectors Comics that dates back to February of this year. You'll notice all of Collectors Comics vital sales information when researching the true value of your next big sale or pick-up.
These noteworthy values on major key issues reflect a decent alternative to other locations, yet they fit right in amongst the data you need to see when making a purchase of this magnitude.
And Now Here's Something You'll Really Enjoy
Collectors Comics has a current Featured Auction that will run May 16-18th. Head on over for a full itinerary of the items up for grabs and to place some early bids on the stuff that catches your eye. Almost 1300 items that range from the early Golden Age to comics released just a few months ago. CollectorsComics.com is known for curating fantastic lots with a wide variety of comics.
Here are some of the less common and notable pieces to watch that I came across:
This issue of the Human Torch #3, released during the final days of 1940 has Toro and the Torch already engaged in battle with Hitler, almost a full year before the US would enter WWII. This book simply does not get offered to the public often. In fact, it averages at just 3 sales per year, and this very nice presenting raw copy will get a lot of attention.
There's never been a better time to invest in pre-superhero Marvel. This inaugural issue of JIM is listed in a grade that is hard to look away from, especially with a cover so rich in color, albeit detached. This is a gorgeous 1.8. Collectors Comics also provides complete CGC Grader's Notes on their books whenever possible.
This copy of Walt Disney's Comics & Stories #1 hasn't sold in this grade in nearly a year. It's being presented alongside major keys like FF 1, X-Men 1, Hulk 1, Daredevil 1, and we find it oh-so refreshing to see a non-superhero key receiving this kind of front page attention!
And here's something else worth noting — each Featured Auction includes a giveaway! After the auction concludes, a random winner will be selected to receive a prize, just for participating. Get all the details on how to enter here!
