Collectors Comics is coming in hot this winter season with their Winter Feature Auction, ending February 11 - 12! There are hundreds of books in this auction, ranging from Golden Age to Modern Age, with a variety of grades as well. This is a great chance for collectors to bulk up their collections, and maybe walk home with a key or two! Here are my favorite comic gems from this feature auction.

Super Mario Bros Special Edition #1

Ever since Mario appeared in Donkey Kong, the heroic plumber has seen his fair share of media tie-ins -- including an upcoming animated film! In 1990 Valiant comic and then editor-in-chief Jim Shooter, released a line of Super Mario Comics, including this Super Mario Bros Special Edition #1. These comics were family-friendly, with inspiration pulled from the first three Nintendo games. This issue was particularly charming, as it includes small featurettes with Princess Toadstool, King Koopa, and the rest of the Mario cast.

This blue label CGC 8.5 features white pages and a bright, crisp cover. Interest in this comic has cooled, making this a great time for Mario collectors to buy. The one-year average for 8.5 graded copies is currently $94. By comparison, 9.8 graded copies have a one-year average of $818.

The Incredible Hulk #271

The Guardians of the Galaxy became one of Marvel's most popular superhero teams, thanks in part to director James Gunn and his choice of casting. With Volume 3 on the horizon, this is our last bout with the current Guardians lineup. This volume will introduce some new heavy-hitting Marvel characters, as well as explore Rocket Raccoons' tragic past. Rocket himself was first introduced in The Incredible Hulk #271, with interest in that book on the rise over the last three months. This is a great and overall still affordable Bronze Age key, even for higher grades.

This blue label CGC 9.2 with white pages is very eye-catching. Al Milgrom's cover art is emphasized with the all-white background, making both Hulk and Rocket the focus. Currently, the one-year average on 9.2 graded copies is $260. By comparison, blue label CGC 9.8 has a one-year average of $1,169. If you're missing this key from your collection, now might be the best time to get this book at a good price.

Booster Gold #1

Recently director and co-head of the new DC film universe, James Gunn, announced that everyone's favorite loser superhero Booster Gold would be getting his own HBO Max series. The character was rumored to get his own movie back several years ago, but obviously, that never happened. Since Gunn's announcement, interest in Booster's first appearance has hit all-time highs. Recently a blue label CGC 9.8 recently sold on eBay for under $700, while raw copies are seeing a jump in sales as well.

In this feature auction, one lucky winner may get the chance to take home this raw copy at what could potentially be a reasonable price. Collectors Comics does note that the pages are off-white to white, but nothing else is noted on the condition. Raw comics have the potential to be real investment pieces, as well as great additions to a collection!

Collectors Comics started hosting quarterly auctions last year and they are completely FREE for anyone who’d like to consign! They will have many more features coming to the platform in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled!

This auction ends Feb 11 - 12. Will you be bidding?
