For decades people young and old have been playing video games. From Atari to Playstation, there’s certainly a video game for every collector! With graded games, collectors can take their collection to the next level. Heritage holds a Mini-Boss Select auction weekly, featuring some fine examples of collectible video games.

American Gladiators CGC Universal 8.5

In the early 1990s, American Gladiators took American pop culture by storm. The show took professional and amateur athletes and had them compete in strength and agility contests. It was a fun show that lasted for 7 seasons before being canceled. The show was revived for two seasons in 2008 and canceled. American Gladiator's was a hit with people of all ages, and as such, received a number of merchandise tie-ins. This Nintendo Entertainment System game came out in 1991 at the height of the show's popularity. Even more impressive is that the box art was drawn by Neal Adams.

This sealed CGC blue label 8.5 B+ looks great despite its minor flaws. Currently, there is no sales data for similarly graded examples. A sealed CGC 9.6 has a current one-year average of $528, making this an affordable option for collectors. While this game may not go up in value anytime soon, it is a unique game due to Adams's artwork.

Ariel The Little Mermaid CGC Universal 9.8

You may have gadgets and gizmos aplenty, but do you own a copy of Ariel The Little Mermaid for the Sega Genesis? This game came out in 1992 -- right when The Little Mermaid television show was airing on the Disney Channel. Unlike the earlier Nintendo Entertainment System game -- The Little Mermaid -- in this game you can play as Ariel or King Triton. Ursula is the main boss in this game, and she is fairly hard to beat! The graphics were great, with bright, colorful sprites of the main characters.

This sealed CGC blue label 9.8 is incredible. There is no sales data for similarly graded examples, though a sealed CGC 9.6 has a one-year average of $396. While I can't say this game will skyrocket in value, it may get a little boost in popularity thanks to Disney's live-action The Little Mermaid, due out on May 26.

Donkey Kong Game Trading Cards

In 1982 Topps released a series of trading cards based on the Donkey Kong arcade game. This incredible vintage piece came out before the Mario Bros changed the world of video games. These cards are incredibly fun. Featuring the characters in Donkey Kong, the artwork on the cards is reminiscent of the arcade cabinet artwork. This sealed wax box has 36 booster packs which include trading cards, stickers, and Bazooka bubblegum.

If you're thinking of buying this to get the cards graded, you'll be better off keeping the box sealed. On eBay, complete boxes sell for over $200, while individual cards and packs range anywhere from $2 - $20.

Heritage notes this box as being in overall excellent condition with some wear. If you're looking for something really cool from the 1980s, this is it. If you're looking to invest in this, I would pass.
