Welcome back to this week's Weekly Auction Gem rundown! Each week we'll look at Heritage's weekly Sunday - Tuesday comic auction, their weekly video game auction, and their weekly poster auction to see which items should be on your radar!

The Spirit #20 CGC Universal 2.5

Will Eisner's The Spirit is a personal favorite of mine. This adaptable character fit into almost any story Eisner put him in - noir, horror, and romance. The Spirit has managed to stay somewhat relevant since its introduction in 1940. In 2008 a (second) live-action adaptation from director Frank Miller hit theaters but ultimately didn't perform well. The Spirit is still celebrated today thanks to Eisner's storytelling and impressive art.

This CGC blue label 2.5 example of issue 20 features Off-White pages and a classic Good Girl Art cover. The Spirit is known for having some of the most beautiful women in comics grace its pages, and this book exemplifies that. This book doesn't come up for sale too often, so now is the time to buy if this is on your list.

The last time a 2.5 example sold was in July 2021 for $500. I believe $500 is a safe ballpark price for this book, but don't worry about going up to $700.

Wizard of Oz Lobby Card 1939

MGM's The Wizard of Oz, based on the L. Frank Baum book series, is arguably one of the most well-known films ever produced. From the lavish set designs to the iconic Ruby Slippers, this movie cemented itself in pop culture history on its release in 1939. Despite its initial success, MGM did not turn a profit on the movie until its re-release in 1949. The Wizard of Oz was not the first time the books have been brought to life - nor would it be the last - but this film is considered to be the gold standard for Oz films.

Original lobby cards can be worth lots of money. This lobby card in particular features the main cast as they make their way through the Emerald City. This would be an incredible piece for an Oz fan. Heritage sold a similar example in November 2021 for $3,360 -- it would not surprise me if the ending price were to go higher for this piece. Heritage notes this item as being in Fine+ condition.

Creature from the Black Lagoon R-1960s Poster

Universal Monster posters are highly sought out by collectors from all walks of life. These original posters make great display pieces; specific examples can be investment pieces. This poster for Creature came out in the 1960s after the movie's initial release, but don't let that stop you from buying this! The Gill-man is shown in beautiful detail, complete with creepy lifeless eyes.

While the original 1954 poster sells for over $10K in an auction, this one will likely not go as high. Heritage sold a similar example in September 2019 for $336. A safe price for this poster should be under $500. Heritage notes that this poster is in Fine/Very Fine condition with signs of use.

Group Lot of Four Complete in-Box Capcom Games

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Capcom made some of my favorite cartoon games. Adventures in the Magic Kingdom was played frequently in my house. This lot includes Adventures, Little Nemo: The Dream Master, Disney's Mickey Mousecapade, and Disney's TaleSpin in various conditions.

This lot isn't an investment lot. But if you're a collector, this is a great way to get some solid Disney games and one game based on a Platinum Age comic.  Little Nemo is one of the rare cartoons of its era to get a full-fledged video game, which is an impressive feat.

If you go for this lot, I would not pay more than $70. These are great collector's pieces with a lot of nostalgic value.
