Heritage is turning up the heat this summer with Hollywood collectibles. This month alone we've seen some impressive focused auctions, as well as the weekly poster auctions. On July 28th Heritage is showcasing The Azarian Collection, a cornucopia of props, autographs, and more spanning several decades. There are a lot of unique items to look at, so here are my top gem pics from this auction!

Adam West Batman Stunt BatarangĀ

1966's Batman reintroduced the caped crusader in a more light-hearted, family-friendly manner. The series would run for 3 seasons before being canceled, but the show's impact would last for years to come. Batman 66 has remained relevant thanks to comic books and cartoons based on the show, but nothing will ever beat the original! Batman used an arsenal of weapons at his disposal -- shark repellent, a Bat Homing transmitter, adhesive Bat-bomb, Bat-cuffs, a Bat pill, and the best one of them all, the Batarang!

This Batarang stunt prop is made of cast foam rubber and can be folded. This prop shows significant wear so it is best to keep it in its open position. Heritage includes a COA. This item would be great to have on display! Another Batarang from the 1966 show, notably Robin's Batarang, sold for $25,000 in November 2021.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator Costume from Terminator 2

"I'll be back" is one of the most iconic lines ever uttered on film, and Arnold did indeed come back for 1991's Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The movie was a box office hit, and would help establish James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger's career even further. When you think of the movie, you likely think of Robert Patrick's T-1000, and Arnold's famous costume; an all black outfit complete with a black leather biker jacket.

Per Heritage, the costume comes with the following;

(1) signature character leather jacket with wide snap-down notched lapels, zippered chest pocket, 2-slash hip pockets, zippered sleeve cuffs, cinching lace-up sides, and integral waist belt with adjustable steel buckle.

With interior lined in Velcro affixed black sateen and retaining squib remnants and other intentional breeches for stunt rigging also rubbing, scoring, cuts, punctures and tears, (1) Hanes brand "Beefy-T" size "XL" black cotton short sleeve t-shirt, (1) pair of black faux leather pants, vinyl-coated and distressed and partially repaired from production with 2-hip and 2-back pockets with black stretch synthetic lining and zippered hems. Jacket also exhibits production wear and some rust to metal zipper.

This is a very unique piece for any collection -- especially if you're a Terminator fan. Similar jackets alone have sold on Heritage from between $16K - $36K, but a complete costume will easily go for more.

Luke Skywalker's Red Five X-Wing Starfighter Filming Miniature from The Empire Strikes Back

George Lucas was keen on using miniatures and full displays when creating the legendary Star Wars saga. Episodes 4, 5, and 6 are some of the best in the franchise, and the franchise is arguably more popular now than it was 40 some years ago. This piece of pop culture history also has a unique COA! Per Brian Johnson, the visual effects artist for the film;

"This is to authenticate and confirm that your X-wing model is one used by Industrial Light and Magic on 'The Empire Strikes Back'. The model was made at ILM in San Rafael and was used on a number of multi-element motion control shots. Ken Ralston was the Cameraman. At the time I was working for Lucas Films Ltd as Effects Supervisor. I am pretty sure the detailing was done by Mike Fulmer and Wesley Seeds."

This item has general wear but appears to be in great condition. This deserves to be a centerpiece in any Star Wars or science fiction collection. This is one of the more iconic pieces from the franchise, and will most likely go for over $200,000. If you should ever want to part with it, I am confident you would likely make a profit on it.
