Avengers: Secret Wars rumors have pushed Thanos back into the collecting conversation, but Lobo continues to grab all the attention.
Welcome to the Hottest Comics, where GoCollect does all the hard work for you, dear collector.
Although there are other auction sites to buy and sell comics, eBay still rules the secondary market. That's why we track the site's sales data and sort the numbers anywhere from 10 days to a full year. The thing to remember is that the Hottest Comics index isn't based on eye-popping sale prices, which are easily manipulated. Instead, the data is focused on the actual number of comics sold during the given timeframe, regardless of price.
With that in mind, let's take a look at the comics that gained the most positions across the last 10, 30, 60, 90, and 180 days.

20. INFINITY GAUNTLET #1 (+57)
The MCU has struck again, and it's impact has put an old favorite back in the spotlight. What's got the fires lit under IG #1? There's rumors that Josh Brolin will be making a return as Thanos in Avengers: Secret Wars. Since Robert Downey Jr. has been confirmed as Doctor Doom, and Chris Evans is set to make his MCU return, the Brolin gossip holds weight. That has made IG #1 a hot commodity once again.
Heading into Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, this was one of the hottest comics on the secondary market. The hype surrounding Thanos was at its peak. After cameos and namedrops galore, audiences were finally going to see the Mad Titan in all his glory on the silver screen. Infinity War delivered the goods. That had buyers all over Infinity Gauntlet #1 as Endgame reached movie theaters.
Once Thanos met his silver-screen demise, Infinity Gauntlet #1 went to the rear of the pack. With no future for the gauntlet or the Mad Titan, there was little incentive for investors to put their dollars into this key issue. While it rebounded at times, it wasn't nearly the same as before. Suddenly, Infinity Gauntlet #1 is rolling like its 2019 all over again.

1. OMEGA MEN #3 (+50)
Maybe Lobo wasn't part of the original Chapter One announcements, but collectors and investors didn't lose hope that he would make his way into the DCU. After years of speculation, the Main Man has been confirmed to make his big screen debut in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
That has caused Omega Men #3 to rocket past everything in its path to reach the pinnacle of the 30-day eBay sales charts.
Ever since James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios, fans have been waiting for Lobo. Out of all the DC characters, he is perhaps the best fit for Gunn's action-comedy approach to comic book adaptations. Then came the talk that Jason Momoa was ready to trade in his trident as Aquaman and bring Lobo to life. The actor had repeatedly stated Lobo was his dream part. While it seemed like the perfect casting, things went quiet, and Omega Men #3 bounced up and down the Hottest Comics index on a near daily basis.
Now that Momoa is officially the DCU's Lobo, the character's first appearance has been on fire. For the past month, it's raced past all those mega Marvel keys to take the number one spot.

44. MARVEL SPOTLIGHT #5 (+49)
Ghost Rider was moving up the 60-day rankings, revving his Harley and speeding nearly 50 spots into the 44th position. What's got his first appearance on the fast track?
As usual, it all comes down to those cinematic appearances. We haven't seen Ghost Rider since Robbie Reyes drove his demonic Charger into Agents of SHIELD, and that was years ago. Since then, there's been ample gossip and rumors of GR returning to the screen. The most prominent was the theory that Nicolas Cage was going to reprise his role as Johnny Blaze for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. When that didn't pan out, the Ghost Rider rumors quieted...for a time. However, that doesn't mean fans have stopped looking for clues as to when he will enter the MCU. Some believe Cage will appear as the Ghost Rider in Secret Wars.
While the Cage casting is just gossip at this point, no matter who is the costume, it's a given that Ghost Rider will return to the MCU in some fashion. For a moment, the character was slated to get a live-action Hulu show, but that was nixed before the project got into full development. That is confirmation that GR is absolutely on the Marvel Studios radar, which has collectors and investors keeping close tabs on Marvel Spotlight #5.

44. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #365 (+28)
That 44th spot was definitely the magic number this week. Here we have ASM #365 coming in 44th and ranking as the hottest comic over the last three months.
This is an issue that has experienced the yo-yo effect for years now. What made ASM #365 so popular is it marked the first appearance of Miguel O'Hara. After it skyrocketed when audiences saw Spider-Man 2099 in Into the Spider-Verse, fans were awaiting his full, big-screen debut.
They got what they wanted in the sequel, Across the Spider-Verse, and Miguel had never been hotter. Then all grew quiet on the Spider-Man 2099 news front, and ASM #365 bounced around the eBay rankings.
As I've written before, and I'll certainly write again, the problem is Sony. There's been very little news about the third movie, Beyond the Spider-Verse. Following multiple delays, Sony eventually deleted the release date all together, leaving fans in limbo. Sooner or later, we'll finally get a conclusion to what has been a stellar Spider-Man story. Since Miguel was such a large part of Across the Spider-Verse, it's likely he'll have a big part to play in Beyond. When that day comes, ASM #365 will regain its lost momentum.

49. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #101 (+36)
Morbius is back again. Despite Sony officially cancelling its live-action Spider-Verse, collectors and investors keep the Living Vampire's first appearance in their crosshairs. It typically moves up and down the rankings by leaps and bounds, but the fact that it's the biggest mover for the last six months is a testimony to buyers' faith in Morbius.
When we consider how far ASM #101 dropped a few years ago, it is impressive to see it rebounding this well. Sony's Morbius was so poorly received that sellers began dumping their copies as soon as the movie hit theaters. Granted, Sony has lowered the bar with worse movies, but this one left a horrible taste in so many mouths. It was so widely hated that ASM #101 looked like it would take a long time to recover. Yet here we are, and there's still life in the Living Vampire.
Since there won't be any other Sony-produced Morbius movie, thankfully, the next logical step is for the character to arrive in the MCU. How that might look is anyone's guess, but it's always a possibility. So many characters have been introduced into the MCU that it's hard to believe Morbius isn't at least in the back of Kevin Feige's mind.
