Kim Kardashian, Tiger Woods, and Pokemon grace the covers of collectors’ favorite magazines this month. The Hottest Magazines is a curated list of the magazines moving up eBay and auction sales lists. GoCollect pulls the stats straight from eBay and auction houses and sorts them by volume moving in the marketplace over the past 30 days.

9. Sports Illustrated #v94 #16 (New to the list!)

On April 8, 2001, Tiger Woods won the green jacket at the Masters Tournament, capping a run of four consecutive major pro golf tournament wins. A week later, the timeless cover of this issue was released. The issue earned its place in our top ten with a major pickup in sales since Christmas. Six copies have sold since, tops being a 9.6 that sold in a January 15 fixed price eBay sale for $200. The top price paid was just seven months ago – a 9.8 that sold in a June 6, 2025 eBay sale for $600.

15. Playboy #v54 #12 (New to the list!)

Released in December 2007 at the height of Kardashian craziness, this issue featured Kim in all her glory. Fans have been spending their holiday cash on this issue with five sales since December 29. That’s when a 9.2 sold in a fixed price eBay sale for $195. The record for this issue was just set in October when a 9.4 sold for $600. The top grades – one 9.8 and two 9.6 grades – are being held by their owners (I wonder why) as they have never sold.

22. Nintendo Power #4 (New to the list!)

The Legend of Zelda made its first cover appearance on this issue that featured Zelda II. The three sales since December 19 included a 9.0 selling for $575 on December 25 followed by another 9.0 going for $300 on January 13. The top price paid for a copy was $1,201 in a 2023 Heritage auction. It was one of three 9.6 graded copies. The lone 9.8 has never sold.

26. Pokemon Power #1 (New to the list!)

The premiere issue of this short-lived series made our list based on four sales since the start of the year. The big seller was a 9.2 that sold in a fixed price eBay sale on January 4 for $950. This followed shortly after two 9.0 graded copies each sold for $500 in January 2 fixed price and best offer eBay sales. The final sale was a PSA graded 8.0 that went for $450 in a January 6 eBay best offer sale. There are no 9.8s in the CGC population report, but one of the three 9.6 graded copies holds the record - $2,000 set in a 2024 eBay auction.

31. Beckett Football Card Monthly #10 (New to the list!)

NFL and MLB star Bo Jackson graced the cover of this issue dressed as Superman but with an Auburn University shield as opposed to the familiar ‘S’. Released in 1991, there have been three sales since December 27, including a 9.2 that sold for $125 in a January 16 fixed price eBay sale. The record setting sale for this issue was a 9.8 graded copy (a whopping 11 total 9.8s in the CGC census) that sold in a 2024 fixed price eBay sale for $450.
