It’s a Donald Trump world judging from our hottest magazines! The Hottest Magazines is a curated list of the magazines moving up the eBay sales lists. GoCollect pulls the stats straight from eBay and sorts them by volume moving in the marketplace over the past 30 days.
1. Time #v204 #21 (New to the list!)
Donald Trump’s popularity among magazine collectors continues unabated and has even grown over the past month. Climbing to number one and previously never on the list is this issue from December 30, 2024 and featuring Trump as the person of the year. With 32 sales in just a little over a month, it is one of the most robust sellers we’ve ever seen in the Hottest Magazines chart. The top price paid so far is $495 for a 9.8 graded copy.
2. Time #v204 #17 (+8)
Coming in at number two is another Trump issue of Time. This issue highlighting Trump’s November election victory has seen 19 sales so far in March. The top price paid is again $495 for a 9.8 graded copy. In addition to the top two, Time #v204 #3 and Playboy #v37 #3 – both featuring Trump on the cover – charted at numbers three and four respectively, while Time Special Edition: Donald Trump #nn came in at number seven.
5. Slam #247 [Flagg Cover] (+13)
The biggest name in men’s college basketball is Cooper Flagg, so it’s not surprising that this issue featuring Flagg on the cover rocketed up the charts during March Madness. After peaking briefly at a top price of $1,000 for a 9.8 back in July, sales quickly crashed back down to more reasonable levels and have been slowly climbing since September. The most recent sale of a 9.8 was for $390 in a March 20 fixed price eBay sale.
12. Sports Illustrated #v61 #5 (Subscription Edition) (+66)
This issue, featuring Michael Jordan playing for Team USA in the 1984 Olympics, was a huge mover, leaping up sixty-six points. The movement was based on eleven sales this calendar year. The top price paid during that span is $330 for an 8.5 graded copy. Higher graded copies are hard to come by, with only 23 copies graded 9.0 or higher out of a census count of 355 copies. Keep an eye out for those high grades if they ever come up for sale.
27. Playboy #v46 #5 (New to the list!)
Then relatively new actress Charlize Theron was featured in this 1999 issue. The photos included in the magazine were from a modeling photo shoot taken several years prior and were used without the actress’ consent. Be that as it may, the issue’s new position on the chart is based on recently heavier sales volume, with six copies selling since December of last year. The high was a slashed $347 in a December 27 eBay sale.
