Marvel ComicsMedia Release -- Dear True Believer, we really appreciate all your participation on Marvel.com, and we're pleased to let you know that we're currently taking major steps to improve our community tools. You may have seen the radically improved Marvel Universe Wiki we released earlier in the week, with a slicker, more usable interface, more features, and improved contributor and moderation tools. And, though we haven't publicly announced this yet, we wanted to give you a special heads-up on another improvement we're making.

In the past, you've been an active member of the Marvel.com community. Maybe you've posted on our message boards; maybe you've commented on news stories, blogs or videos. And, in the next week or so, we'll be taking the community on Marvel.com to a new level, blowing it out into a full social network so you can connect with other Marvel community members and Marvel creators and staff.

To accomplish our transformation, we're going to have to take our community offline for a few days. From later today until launch, you won't be able to access message boards, leave comments, or read old comments. When we come back, you'll still be able to read and respond to the last year's months worth of comments and board posts, as well as take advantage of the myriad of new features that are part of our new social network.

Although we apologize for the inconvenience, we hope you'll find all the new features and functionality worth the trouble. Please stay tuned for our new community! We'll send another e-mail to let you know when it's up and ready for your participation.

All the best,

The Marvel.com Team
