1988 Peter Max Grateful Dead Spring Tour Signed Max Poster Near Mint 83

This poster is signed by the artist Peter Max!

This big, beautiful Grateful Dead poster was designed by one of the most recognizable artists of the 1960s, Peter Max. Max created several memorable ad campaigns for Madison Avenue that encapsulated the hippie flower power aesthetic for the masses. This work is essential to pop culture. Max achieved celebrity status and commercial success and licensed merchandise of every shape and size. The Peter Max commercial poster catalog is well-known and seriously collected. Several event posters were created along the way and this 1988 Grateful Dead poster is a sweet spot, a favorite for collectors of the band and the artist.

Max’s business team approached the promoter of the 1988 Dead tour and proposed the design to be used for a poster and T-shirt to be sold at shows. In addition to the sold-out show edition, there were approximately 200 Artist signed copies.

The Poster is large and printed on heavy-coated stock. PAE has auctioned the unsigned edition several times over the years for between $1000-$1500. This SIGNED example is very clean with just soft corners being the only discernible flaw.

Condition: Soft corners.

1967 NR-6 Blues Project The Matrix Poster Excellent 75

Presenting a Victor Moscoso poster which just happens to be one of the most "in-demand" Neon Rose posters of all. This original, first poster was printed with a negative image. Most folks in this hobby need this issue to complete their set of Neon Rose titles.

PLEASE NOTE - The designation RP-1 for this poster can be slightly misleading. This is the original FIRST poster printed of this NR-6 issue. However, it is called RP-1 because it was produced (like all the posters of NR-6) after the concerts occurred. The only NR-6 issue that was produced before the concerts is the black and white Handbill. So technically, this is the first print poster, and therefore very difficult to find for collectors.

1969 Jimi Hendrix Newport Pop Festival Devonshire Downs Poster Mint 93

PAE is pleased to offer this Original Poster from a very noteworthy and legendary Hendrix event! Difficult to find in ANY condition, this LARGE poster is a beauty to behold. Stories about the Newport 1969 festival at Devonshire Downs have been told and passed down for generations. Its popularity in folklore naturally revolves mostly around the legendary Jimi Hendrix.

For starters, it was attended by an estimated 200,000 fans, which was not only the largest festival at that time (only to be topped by Woodstock a couple months later), but it was certainly the largest audience Jimi had performed to up until that point. Then things got weird. The Jimi Hendrix Experience headlined Friday (the first night) and their set was sub-par and confusing. Apparently, it seemed Jimi may have gotten dosed prior to stepping on the stage to play.

To make matters worse, the festival was policed by the Hells Angels, who were not known as being friendly when it came to organized chaos. There were several hundred people injured from riots that apparently broke out near the entrance gates. The three-day festival was also stocked with inadequate food, drink, and restroom facilities, as well as poor stage sound during several performances.

The good news? Jimi Hendrix prevailed by returning on Sunday for a second set! The Sunday set was an expansive improvisational jam with Eric Burdon, Buddy Miles, Tracy Nelson, and Mother Earth. Jimis enthusiastic participation won over the crowd and it proved to be THE highlight of the entire weekend!
