She-Hulk: Attorney at Law went out with a bang this week, teasing two highly anticipated characters’ arrivals in the MCU.

All season long, Marvel fans were champing at the bit to see Daredevil’s full-costumed return to the MCU. As great as it was to see “the Man Without Fear” back in action (sporting a new suit with a retro color scheme, no less), the season finale outshone DD’s arrival to the world of Marvel-brand comedy thanks to two potentially major characters.

RED HULK

FIRST APPEARANCE: (cover only) Hulk #1; (in-story) Hulk #2

At the top of the list is the top-tier Hulk of the Modern Age, Red Hulk.

In the comics, he is the gamma-powered alter-ego of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. Of course, Thunderbolt has been in the Hulk mythos literally since day one, and he spent his life hunting the Green Goliath. The MCU has told a different story for Ross. After debuting in the early days of Marvel Studios with 2008’s Incredible Hulk, the former general became a high-ranking politician on his way to being an Avengers headache.

After the death of actor William Hurt who brought Thunderbolt to life in the MCU, it’s left questions as to whom could be the man behind the CGI Red Hulk. While that question remains unanswered, She-Hulk delivered the goods with Red Hulk Easter eggs in the post-credit scenes for the final two episodes.

There was little doubt that he would show, and there have been rumors galore that he will appear in Captain America: New World Order (and I believe he will face off with War Machine in Armor Wars). At least now, we can be sure that he is coming to the MCU.

SKAAR

FIRST APPEARANCE: (non-canonical) What If…? Planet Hulk Special #1; (canonical) World War Hulk #5

Although most comic fans probably would have preferred to have seen a less-angsty teen version of Skaar, it’s still exciting to see Hulk’s son arrive in the MCU. Of course, his debut has been predicted since She-Hulk was first announced. After Hulk was taken back to Sakaar in the first episode, it only further emboldened those predictions. By that point, it became a matter of when rather than if Skaar would set foot on Earth.

It’s much too early to say where things are headed with Hulk and his son, but it would seem that in light of the Red Hulk tease, a big story is in the works. There’s a chance this could be put on the back burner until the next season of She-Hulk with Red Hulk taking aim at Jennifer, Bruce, Skaar, and possibly other gamma-roided superheroes.

WINTER SHE-HULK?

After such a spectacular finish to the first installment, what could be next for She-Hulk?

With Hulks being vomited all over the MCU, She-Hulk’s second chapter could pull the Thunderbolts into the mix. Last year, Marvel Comics introduced the Winter She-Hulk, which is a version of the character after she was put through the same Red Room that brainwashed the Black Widow assassins. That could reel in Winter Soldier and Yelena Belova for the new season, which would be a win for fans.
