Media Release -- SPARTA USA #1 is the latest WildStorm "Read Before You Buy" title, giving retailers a copy of the printed issue one day before its Final Cut Off date.
Scheduled to arrive in stores on March 3, retailers will receive one copy of SPARTA: USA #1 Standard edition (JAN100332) on February 17, one day before the issue's Final Order Cutoff date of February 18.
Written by David Lapham and featuring art and cover by Johnny Timmons, this six-issue miniseries is set in the town of Sparta, where people believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness through treachery, blackmail and murder - just like their Maestro taught them, as he learned it from the U.S. president. Sparta is such a great place that no one ever thinks of leaving. In fact, it's been three years since anyone's tried, and he was never heard from again...until today.
As a reminder, the WildStorm "Read Before You Buy" program provides one free copy of each of these titles to every retailer placing a DC Comics order for delivery that week, one copy per Diamond account. This will give retailers the chance to review the issue and adjust their orders before FOC.
Retailers do not have to place a prior order for the title to receive the free copy. "Read Before You Buy" copies will not be counted for market share, and are not intended for resale.
