Collecting trading cards has been a time-honored tradition for generations. From baseball cards to Pokemon cards, there’s a trading card for every kind of fan! Trading card games focus on the gaming aspect of certain trading cards — such as the previously mentioned Pokemon and the widely popular Magic: The Gathering.
Pokemon EX Deoxys Group of 25
Don't overlook this weekly auction if you aim to catch them all. This lot of 25 CGC-graded EX Deoxys cards, is the eighth expansion in the Pokemon EX TCG series. This set includes cards such as Altaria, graded at NM/Mint+ 8.5, Ludicolo, graded at Gem Mint 9.5, and Camerupt, graded at EX/NM+ 6.5.
The grades vary a great deal, but most are within the NM area. While these cards may not be the most valuable if you're looking to build a collection this is the easiest way to go about doing so. Heritage routinely has group lots in their weekly auctions.
This week, we also have a group lot of 11 CGC-graded Pokemon EX Team Rocket Returns cards, a group lot of 16 CGC-graded Pokemon EX Dragon Frontiers group, and more. Likewise, if you're looking for cards to play with (or get graded yourself), there is also a group lot of 27 ungraded English and Japanese Pokemon cards.
Magic: The Gathering Ice Age Sealed Booster Packs Group of 4
In the summer of 1995 Magic: The Gathering Ice Age made its debut. The sixth expansion set for the M: TG universe, the set would include 383 cards -- 121 of which are considered rare. Notable cards from the set include; Necropotence, which has an ungraded median price of $36.47 - Dance of the Dead, which has an ungraded median price of $32.96 - and Underground River, which has an ungraded median price of $15.80. Each sealed booster pack contains 15 untouched cards, giving you a 1 in 45 chance of finding something rare.
You could take your chances and open them to get each card graded, or you could save them for further down the line. You could even get the packs graded yourself. Lots such as this have potential. Heritage notes that these packs are in excellent condition.
Yu-Gi-Oh Variety Graded Group of 7
Much like the various Pokemon cards from earlier, this Yu-Gi-Oh! graded group set of 7 is perfect for people to bolster their collection. These cards come from various expansion sets in the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG line, and all but two have a PSA Mint 9 grade. Burst Stream of Destruction and Dark Magic Attack both have a PSA grade of NM-MT 8.
The rest of the set includes Buster Blader, Slate Warrior, Curse of Anubis, Ruin Queen of Oblivion, and Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End. Heritage also has a Yu-Gi-Oh! graded group of 3, all with grades of PSA Mint 9.
These graded group lots are a personal favorite as they already take the guessing work out of what a card is worth. While none of these are groundbreaking cards by any means, they are still a great way to grow a collection without spending a ton of money. If you're a new collector, don't overlook these bulk lot auctions!
