The monthly Top 10 CGC Submissions is a curated list of comics and magazines that have been moving up CGC's grading lists. CGCData.com pulls the data straight from CGC over the past 30 days.

For the month of April 2025, there are six issues that are either related to the Venom symbiote and/or Todd McFarlane in the Top 10. As we've seen over the past year, McFarlane is clearly king among most collectors who use CGC's grading services.

Just to shake things up this month, we've also curated a different Top 10 list: Top 10 CGC Bronze Age submissions for last month.

Let's take a closer look at last month's top CGC submissions overall and also for the Bronze Age.

Without further ado, here are the Top 10 CGC submissions during the month of April:

1. Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #8 (Marvel, 1984);

2. X-Men #1 (Marvel, 1991);

3. Absolute Batman #1 (DC, 2024);

4. Spider-Man #1 Silver Edition (Marvel, 1990);

5. Ultimate Wolverine #1 (Marvel, 2025)

6. Spawn #1 (Image, 1992)

7. Venom: Lethal Protector #1 (Marvel, 1993);

8. Amazing Spider-Man #300 (Marvel, 1988);

9. Deadpool #7 Giang Variant (Marvel, 2024); and

10. All-New Venom #1 Bengus Variant (Marvel, 2025).

Month after month, year after year, collectors who are willing to invest time and money into CGC's grading services have shown that the alien costume saga and Venom may be the most popular storyline and character of the Copper and Modern Ages. In April, four out of the top 10 spots were related in some way to the alien symbiote and three of them were penciled by McFarlane. CGC has graded over 180,000 copies of these issues and receive roughly 1,000 submissions each month.

Nine out of the Top 10 Bronze Age books were published by Marvel.

Just to shake things up this month, we're going to take a look at the Top 10 Bronze Age submissions during the month of April.

1. Wolverine Limited Series #1 (Marvel, 1982) (14th overall);

2. Star Wars #1 (Marvel, 1977) (28th overall);

3. Omega Men #3 (DC, 1983) (30th overall);

4. Amazing Spider-Man #129 (Marvel, 1974) (31st overall);

5. Incredible Hulk #181 (Marvel, 1974) (40th overall);

6. Amazing Spider-Man #238 (Marvel, 1983) (48th overall);

7. Giant-Size X-Men #1 (Marvel, 1975) (54th overall);

8. Spectacular Spider-Man #1 (Marvel, 1976) (57th overall);

9. G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #1 (Marvel, 1982) (71st overall); and

10. Amazing-Spider-Man #194 (Marvel, 1979) (78th overall).

Looking at the Bronze Age, we see that Marvel still dominates CGC submissions with nine out of the Top 10 published by Marvel and only one DC book making the cut: Omega Men #3. It's likely that Omega Men #3 got a boost from recent news about Jason Momoa portraying Lobo in the upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow film. Will it drop out of the Top 10 in the months ahead once the hype dies down?

One book in the Top 10 that is a surprise (at least for me) is Spectacular Spider-Man #1. The other nine issues in the Bronze Age Top 10 are historically significant for some reason, but Spectacular Spider-Man #1 is a minor key at best (unless you think the first appearance of Edward Lansky is significant). It may be the first in a long-running series, but it doesn't have a memorable cover (unlike Web of Spider-Man #1's haunting cover).
