The monthly Top 10 CGC Submissions is a curated list of comics and magazines that have been moving up CGC's grading lists. CGCData.com pulls the data straight from CGC over the past 30 days.

For the month of February 2025, in addition to seeing some familiar faces like X-Men #1 and Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #8, we continue to see an appetite among collectors for alternate universes with two DC Absolute Universe books making an appearance, and one from Marvel's Ultimate Universe appearing in the Top 10. And after a brief hiatus in January, we also see a return of the Rippaverse in the Top 10 in February as well.

Let's take a closer look at last month's top CGC submissions.

Without further ado, here are the Top 10 CGC submissions during the month of February:

1. Absolute Batman #1 (2024, DC Comics);

2. Bloodruth #1 Variant Cover C (2024, Rippaverse Comics);

3. Yaira #2 Variant Cover C (2025, Rippaverse Comics)

4. X-Men #1 (1991, Marvel Comics);

5. Ultimate Universe: One Year In #1 Cappuccio Variant Cover (2025, Marvel Comics)

6. Spawn #1 (1992, Image Comics);

7. Absolute Batman #1 Third Printing/The Comic Corner Edition (2024, D.C. Comics)

8. Deadpool/Wolverine #1 (2025, Marvel Comics)

9. Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #8 (1984, Marvel Comics); and

10. Wolverine Limited Series #1 (1982, Marvel Comics).

Collectors submitted 2,467 copies of Absolute Batman #1 to CGC during the month of January.

For the third straight month, Absolute Batman #1 took the number one spot. Not only did Cover A and the third printing of Absolute Batman #1 take the Nos. 1 and 7 spots, but other variants also took the 21st, 80th, 84th, 87th, and 99th spots in the top 100 submissions for last month as well. During the month of February alone, CGC received an astounding 2,467 copies of Absolute Batman #1 if you include every variant. This amount is significantly more than the 1,737 that were submitted during the previous month.

If you're looking at submissions for Cover A only, there was a 41% increase in submitted copies in February with the average grade being a 9.78. There are already nearly 1,952 graded copies of Cover A on the CGC Census. Even though the supply of graded copies of Absolute Batman #1 has increased dramatically, the FMV of a CGC 9.8 copy of Cover A has remained mostly steady at $100, but is starting to show signs of cooling off:

And there are some other signs that the Absolute Universe may be cooling off with collectors. For example, Absolute Superman #1 and Absolute Wonder Woman #1, which were 9th and 13th in January, couldn't hold on like Absolute Batman did and fell to 25th and 46th in February.

Rippaverse submissions are back.

For those of you who have been following my monthly CGC submissions blog, you know that submissions related to the Rippaverse have dominated the Top Ten lists for the past six months. It seemed like the Rippaverse run was over last month when not a single Rippaverse comic failed to crack the Top 10, but they were submitted once again in large numbers in February. Not only did Bloodruth #1 and a variant cover of Yaira #2 take two spots in the Top 10, but other editions of those same issues also took the 11th, 16th, 26th, 29th, 32nd, and 36th spots as well. All said, CGC received 1,925 comics published by the Rippaverse last month.

Some commentators have disparaged Rippaverse comics in previous blogs, but data exists that they sell for solid prices in the highest grades. For instance, take a look at this recent sale for an Isom #1 CGC 10.0 that sold for an impressive $898 on March 1st on eBay.

The FMV of a 9.8 of Isom #1, the most common grade on the CGC Census, is $100.
