The monthly Top 10 CGC Submissions is a curated list of comics and magazines that have been moving up CGC's grading lists. CGCData.com pulls the data straight from CGC over the past 30 days.
For the month of January 2025, we see more evidence that DC may have a legitimate hit on its hands with its Absolute DC series, an all-new continuity separate from the main DC Universe (similar in concept to Marvel's Ultimate Universe). Collectors submitted thousands of copies of Absolute Batman #1, Absolute Superman #1, and Wonder Woman #1 to CGC last month.
Let's take a closer look at last month's top CGC submissions.
Without further ado, here are the Top 10 CGC submissions during the month of January:

4. Absolute Batman #1 Jim Lee Variant Cover (2024, DC Comics)
5. Transformers #13 Big-Time Collectibles Edition (2024, Image Comics)
6. Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars #8 (1984, Marvel Comics);
7. Wolverine Limited Series #1 (1982, Marvel Comics);
8. Spawn #1 (1992, Image Comics);
9. Absolute Superman #1 (2024, DC Comics); and
10. Captain America #14 Doom Variant (2024, Marvel Comics).
Collectors submitted 2,467 copies of Absolute Batman #1 to CGC during the month of January.
Scott Snyder's Absolute Universe series appears to be a hit among collectors. Just like it did last month, Absolute Batman #1 took the number one spot once again during the month of January. Not only did Cover A and the Jim Lee variant take the Nos. 1 and 4 spots, but other variant covers also took the 29th, 38th, 47th, and 59th spots in the top 100 submissions for last month. During the month of January alone, CGC received an astounding 2,467 copies of Absolute Batman #1 if you include every variant. This amount is significantly more than the 1,737 that were submitted during the previous month.
If you're looking at submissions for Cover A only, there was an 88% increase in submitted copies in January with the average grade being a 9.78. There are already nearly 1,387 copies of Cover A on the CGC Census. Even though the supply of graded copies of Absolute Batman #1 (Cover A) is rapidly increasing, the FMV of a CGC 9.8 has remained pretty steady at $100. This 9.8 sold for $90 on eBay on February 1st:
Collectors have submitted large numbers of Absolute Superman #1 and Absolute Wonder Woman #1 in January.
The other members of DC's Trinity are also not far behind Batman. In January, Absolute Superman #1 (Cover A) joined Absolute Batman #1 in the top 10. Collectors submitted 232 copies of this issue in January receiving an average grade of 9.79. According to GoCollect, the FMV of a 9.8 is $70. This 9.8 sold on eBay for $65 on February 1st:
The third member of the DC Trinity, Wonder Woman, is not far behind; Absolute Wonder Woman #1 was the 13th most submitted book to CGC during the month of January with 192 submissions. These submissions received an average grade of 9.8. According to GoCollect, the FMV of a 9.8 is $70, but if you're patient, you can find a good deal with this 9.8 selling for $46 during an auction hosted on eBay on February 1st:
