Transformers: The Movie Sealed IGS 9.0 Box 10 Seal

The 1980s were dominated by cartoons and their toy tie-ins: Rainbow Brite, G.I. Joe, My Little Pony, and Transformers. The robots in disguise took the world by storm and became one of the most collectible IPs of the generation. Transformers is still popular to this day, thanks in part to a series of live-action movies that started in 2007.

Yet one movie, in particular, tugged at our collective heartstrings more than any of the new movies ever could -- 1987's Transformers: The Movie. This movie was full of action, adventure, impressive animation, and of course the death of Optimus Prime. This animated death is one of the few that would leave a lasting impression on the young minds who witnessed it first in theaters. It was so impactful that it's still a topic of discussion today!

This sealed IGS-graded example is stunning. With a grade of 9.0 for the box and 10 for the seal, this is a near-perfect example of the original video. Ungraded copies of similar examples have sold for impressive prices. In June 2023 a Betamax example sold for $318. An opened VHS example sold for $79 in May 2023. As this is a high-graded example it could go over $350, which is still a fair price for this video.

Madonna Like a Virgin Audio Cassette IGS 8.5

Madonna's second studio album, Like a Virgin, was released November 12, 1984, and contained some of her best-known -- and at the time, controversial -- works to date. Singles included the titular Like a Virgin, Angel, as well as the iconic Material Girl. International versions included the popular single Into the Groove.

This album is considered to be one of the best pop albums of the decade, and Like a Virgin was added to the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry. The single would cause all the usual pearl-clutching of parents who felt it was too racy for their kids. Madonna's overt sexuality was on full display with Like a Virgin, causing mass hysteria. Ok, maybe it didn't, but there was a large group of very angry and vocal people about the song!

Various examples of this cassette routinely sell for $50+ on eBay. I do not see this cassette going for over $100, but Madonna fans are passionate about the singer, so it is possible. But for an unsealed example, I don't see it happening.

Shrek VHS Sealed 7.5

Hey now, you're an all-star. Get your game on, go bid on this VHS. Shrek's impact on pop culture can not be understated. The anti-Disney fairytale came at the right time. The internet was starting to boom, Y2K culture was taking off, and that Smashmouth single is likely stuck in your head right now.

The movie became a multimedia franchise, with movies still being made to this day. The DVD release of the first movie became one of the fastest-selling DVD releases of all time, though the VHS release sold a respectable amount too. As the kids say, Shrek is love.

This sealed VHSDNA graded 7.5 looks great. It does have some gentle wear on it, but like the titular character, no one is perfect. If you're a fan of animation, or Shrek in general, don't sleep on this copy.
