Welcome back to this week's look at Heritage's Sunday night movie poster auction! Every week Heritage auctions off some truly unique finds across all movie genres, such as movie serials, animation, science fiction, romance, and more. Each week I find a few gems that could be overlooked! Here are my pics for this week's unique finds!

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Color Transparency Slides

Steven Spielberg's 1982 classic E.T. is a movie we all recognize. It would go on to be one of the highest-grossing films of all time; and during its run, another Spielberg movie knocked it out of its number-one spot: Jurassic Park. Spielberg himself has six movies in the highest-grossing ranks, a feat not many people can claim! E.T. is timeless and can be enjoyed over and over again, though nothing will replicate the feeling of watching it for the first time. The movie also inspired the Atari E.T. video game, which holds the distinct honor of being one of the worst video games of all time.

This lot of over 80 color transparency slides would be great for a collector. These feature full-color scenes from the movie and could be used in a slide projector. Heritage notes that these are unrestored and in Fine / Very Fine condition.

The Godfather Part III (1990)

The Godfather is another American film classic that is still celebrated to this day. The third installment of the film, Part III, shot for the moon but instead took a nosedive to the ocean. From poor acting to an even worse plot, Part III was not so much a financial bomb as it was a critical one. While it still performed well, the plotline and some of the actor choices were met with criticism. Part III was still nominated for many awards, including seven Academy Awards. I still think this is an important piece in the Godfather puzzle, so if you haven't seen it yet -- what's stopping you?

This unrestored poster is noted as being in Very Fine condition. Featuring Al Pacino as Michael Corleone, the audience now knows what kind of character he is. This is a great poster, and would do well framed!

Song of the South (1973)

Disney's 1946 film that blends live-action and animation, Song of the South, will likely not see an official re-release anytime soon. Disney has locked this film in their proverbial vault due to its depiction of race. It's no secret that media made in the 1940s was different. Almost every single media company has a Song of the South in their library (if not several), but unlike Disney, many companies have chosen to face their past and present them in a historical context with a disclaimer. Many Disney fans have wondered - and even asked - if this movie would ever be re-released. To date, there has been no complete release of the film in the United States. You can find it on VHS and LaderDisc from other countries.

This unrestored poster featured the main cast of the film in bright colors. The poster does have staining on the bottom, but the image itself is left untouched. Heritage notes this poster as being in Fine - condition.
