The comic market in the last couple of years has been dictated based on what the major publishers put in the movie theatres. Specifically, I am really talking about the two comic giants, Marvel and DC Comics. Generally, a key issue will spike really high due to a confirmed or unconfirmed movie appearance of a character. For example, America Chavez's value has spiked recently due to movie rumors.  Her first appearance occurred in Vengeance #1. The last two recent sales of a CGC 9.8 grade have spiked to $725 and $800 respectively. Prior to those sales, the issue was averaging about $290 to $350. The effect of rumors plays a big role in comic issues and how they can rise quickly. I am going to point out an affordable modern female character that you should consider grabbing.

Viv Vision is a synthezoid created by Vision with the intent of becoming more human to start a family. A synthezoid is known as a synthesized humanoid robot, where it is powered by solar energy and is composed of a synthetic organic-like substance, called Horton cells. These cells emulate the functions of human cells but are much tougher and resilient.

The first appearance of Viv Vision is in Vision Vol. 2 #1. Her first appearance is modestly cheap and it also comes with a couple of variant covers that could be valuable over time.

Here are some reasons why this character is very appealing going forward.

The Champions

She recently joined the superhero team, The Champions. The team consists of Sam Alexander (New Nova), Ms. Marvel, The Hulk (Amadeus Cho), Cyclops, and Miles Morales. This modern team-up is also speculated to appear down the road for Marvel. Viv has that friendly and bright personality that is perfect to make an appearance in an upcoming Disney Plus television show. Maybe she could show up in the upcoming Ms. Marvel show? Those two characters are connected by being in the Champions team together.

Another factor to consider is the print run and price of her first appearance. The print is not that high for an issue #1, as it is an estimated run around 40,000 copies. In addition, a CGC 9.8 is only $120 for the regular cover and that is a reasonable price. Since the first appearance of this character is relatively cheap, I would advise in grabbing the ratio variants. The 1:20 variant cover by Marcos Martin is going for about $45 raw and there is a 1:25 variant by Ryan Sook that is currently selling at around $85 for a raw copy. I would advise getting both, but if you had to get one, go for the 1:25 variant.

Ironheart

A while ago, a character named Riri Williams(Ironheart) had a price of around $120-$150 for her first appearance for a high-grade slab comic. A couple of months later, the price has doubled and the variant covers are even higher. The hike in price is due to the heavy rumors of Riri receiving her own Disney Plus television show. This is according to an article from the boundintocomics.com article last May. The difference between Riri and Viv is Ironheart received much more film and television rumors. The reality is, Viv, has received no rumors, so this is the best time to jump on this character.  Just like with Riri, she could take up the mantle as the next Iron Man, Viv could take the position of Vision in the upcoming future. The future of Marvel is looking bright as they continue to mix their classic heroes with more modern characters.
