Just like any MCU popcorn fest worth its weight in Disney merchandise, Deadpool 3 is the subject of countless rumors and gossip. While there remain questions about the plot, most of the attention is centered on the possible cameos.

The word on the internet is that Channing Tatum has already filmed his scenes as Gambit, the role he was promised before Disney axed the production. Judging by another rumored cameo, it’s more than just the X-Men films in Ryan Reynolds’ crosshairs.

The latest news is that Jennifer Garner will be appearing in Deadpool 3 as Elektra. Her take on the ninja assassin is infamous among comic fans, having played the character in 2003’s Daredevil and 2005’s Elektra, two of the worst Marvel adaptations this side of Quantumania. While those films may not be Garner’s cinematic crowning achievements, fans are buzzing about her return to the role if only for a hilarious cameo. It’s leading collectors on a hunt for those Elektra keys.

DAREDEVIL #168

When you have a character as popular as Elektra, her first appearance will always be a prime collecting target. Well before she was redeemed in live-action under the Netflix banner, DD #168 was a staple of any Daredevil collector.

During Frank Miller’s legendary run, Elektra was an integral part of the narrative and Matt Murdock’s character development. It makes for a perennial favorite among fans, and that has only escalated in light of Garner’s involvement in Deadpool 3.

ELEKTRA: ASSASSIN #1

The next order of business is getting your hands on Elektra’s first solo title, 1986’s Elektra: Assassin #1. Aside from being a key moment in the character’s history, you get the added bonus of a superstar creative pairing.

Marvel tapped Frank Miller for writing duties, which made sense given that he created the character, with the incomparable Bill Sienkiewicz taking over on pencils. That alone is worth owning this issue.

ELEKTRA: THE OFFICIAL MOVIE ADAPTATION

With Garner reportedly donning her ninja gear for what should be a spoof of the 2005 flick, buyers wanted a piece of the action. It’s hard to see this issue earning major profits, but it is a fun addition at any rate.

DAREDEVIL #25

Maybe Elodi Yung isn’t reprising her role as Elektra just yet, but I fully expect the character to return to live action in due time. With Charlie Cox officially back in the MCU as Daredevil, there’s plenty of mystery surrounding Born Again. The series could very well lead to Elektra reappearing in the MCU, whether or not she is played by Yung.

Marvel Studios could very well take inspiration from the modern version of the character and have her take up the DD moniker as she first did in 2020’s Daredevil #25.

BATFLECK IN THE MCU?

Given this is a Deadpool movie, Ryan Reynolds and the gang will take plenty of shots at the former 20th Century Fox and Disney. Virtually every pre-MCU Marvel movie will be lampooned, one way or another. There are even rumors that Ben Affleck will reprise his role as Daredevil.

If Garner has indeed joined the cast, that could indicate the former Batfleck will appear as well. For that matter, we could get that oft-speculated Nicolas Cage Ghost Rider return in Deadpool 3.
