For decades, fans of all ages have been playing video games. From Atari to PlayStation, there’s certainly a video game for every collector! With graded games, collectors can take their collections to the next level. Heritage holds a Mini-Boss Select auction weekly, featuring some fine examples of collectible video games.

Video Pinball CGC Universal 7.5 Glue Seal

I'll be the first to admit that traditional pinball machines are expensive and take up a good chunk of space. If you happen to get a deal on an older machine, there's also the possibility of having to repair - or pay to have it repaired - at some point. Thankfully, video games have been answering the call to make pinball more accessible to the masses with video game pinball. Atari released their own in-home pinball video game in 1977, and since then, almost every single in-home console has had a pinball video game somewhere in its lifespan. Video Pinball, released in 1980, simulates playing a real pinball machine to the best of its technological capabilities. The game features your traditional bumpers, flippers, and a plunger. Even more impressive is that the game even has a tilt feature if you "slam" the machine too much. I'll give Atari credit, they saw an untapped market and went for it, and this niche corner of video games is still around today.

This CGC Universal 7.5 with a glue seal is great. I love the all-blue box with the very 1980s pinball artwork. This is a nostalgic daydream. The last 7.5 example sold was in September 2024 for $123, making this a unique and affordable find for pinball and vintage game collectors. If you're looking to build a pinball video game collection, Heritage has a copy of Super Pinball in this week's auction as well!

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde CGC Universal 9.4 A Sealed

Horror video games from the 1980s and 1990s all seem to share one common thread: they all have amazing box art. Monster Party, Friday the 13th, and Ghoul School are some of my personal favorites. Yet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is almost perfect. The art has a funky London After Midnight vibe, which oversells the otherwise OK side scroller. Players switch between the two personas, and in this game, Mr. Hyde even has a superpower of sorts. In hindsight, most people would likely agree that the box art is the best part of this game.

This CGC Universal 9.4 A Sealed should be on every horror collector's list. The only other CGC graded copy in our database is an 8.0, which has a one-year average of $150. This game has the potential to go over $200, but only time will tell!

Roll & Rocker NES Controller

Nintendo was on a roll with Nintendo Entertainment System accessories. The company rolled out Light Guns, Power Gloves, Homework Firsts, and, of course, the Roll & Rocker controller. This balance board controller teetered and totterd, and according to many, simply never worked right. The contraption still required the player to use the actual controller for the A and B buttons, so truly, what was the point? LJN was behind the Roll & Rocker, and if you've been around video games long enough, you know that means that quality wasn't the best. Yet still, this is a very unique piece from Nintendo's otherwise illustrious history!

This accessory is ungraded, but Heritage notes it is in Fine/Very Fine condition.
