For decades, fans of all ages have been playing video games. From Atari to PlayStation, there’s certainly a video game for every collector! With graded games, collectors can take their collections to the next level. Heritage holds a Mini-Boss Select auction weekly, featuring some fine examples of collectible video games.

Werewolf: The Last Warrior CGC Universal 9.0 Sealed

As a fan of side-scrolling 'platformers' and horror, this game immediately caught my eye. Werewolf: The Last Warrior was distributed in North America by Data East, the company behind some of the best pinball machines to come out in the 1990s. Werewolf wasn't the most popular Nintendo game, and it's hard to find any reviews of it from the time of its release without doing some heavy digging. While I don't want to say this is an all-but-forgotten game, it would appear that way. The cover art is fantastic. It features the main character, War Wolf, busting out from both the game cartridge and box. The screen grabs you can find online are also great, but certainly don't stand out compared to other games of its time. That's not to say this isn't a solid game for collectors.

This CGC Universal 9.0 A++ sealed copy has exponential shelf appeal — it will be the first CGC 9.0 to sell according to our records, but judging by the other prices this could be an inexpensive game for the right buyer.

Pokemon Pinball VGA 90 Sealed

While most people play the canon Pokemon games - Red, Pearl, Sun - the games outside of the main Pokemon series are a delight. Pokemon Pinball, released for the Game Boy Color in 1999, features two tables - Red and Blue. Pinball is a great game as you never have the same game twice, but that generally applies to real, solid-state machines. Computer pinball can only mimic the real thing so far, but Pokemon Pinball is still a great game. Pokemon Pinball was well-received and even had a sequel. Now there are rumors that a full Pokemon pinball machine will be coming out, potentially making this a true full-circle moment.

This VGA 90-sealed game is great. This is the Japanese version, but don't let that deter you! The English version of this game does fetch good money. A similarly graded VGA 90 sold for $4,500 in 2022, so it is possible the Japanese counterpart will surprise us all in this auction.

Snake's Revenge CGC Universal 9.6 Sealed

In 1987, video game fans around the world were introduced to Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear. The game was praised by fans and critics alike and would go on to create one of the most recognizable video game franchises. The second game, Snake's Revenge, was a sequel that did not involve Kojima! Despite that, Kojima acknowledged the game and stated that he did enjoy it, but he still released his own proper sequel to Metal Gear in 1990. Snake's Revenge was still popular with players, so much so that Tiger Electronics released a handheld Game Talk version of Snake's Revenge the same year the Nintendo version was released.

This CGC Universal 9.4 sealed game is eye-catching. The box art screams late 80s action film, with bright colors and an over-the-top hero. The last time a similarly graded copy sold was in 2023 for $1,560. I don't expect this to go much higher, but anything is possible!
