Hear Ye, Hear Ye

We are gathered at this town hall today to announce the return of civilized conversation.

Once again, let the voices of friends and neighbours sing out with news of the outside world. After this brief moment of time, we may find ourselves a little wiser for having opened our ears.

Ladies and gentlemen, the GoCollect Blog has officially returned.

It will and will not be like the blogs of old. You will notice changes going forward that we have worked hard over the months to implement. These changes enhance our ability to connect you with the stories you’ve come to love and the information that is crucial to incorporating what you love in to your life. Think of what’s in store as something like a retro roadshow. A show that has, and must always, go on.

The Road from Raw to Riches

There’s a story to be told in every collectible. From the ones that have nestled in grandpa’s attic for generations to the ones that trade and pass through many hands on their way to yet another sale and yet another wall.

Our mission has always been to bridge the gap between the attics and the walls of the world. What makes an item iconic. And what power pulls it from the perfect environment of the family attic to the blinding lights of a dealer’s table and into the hands of a grown man wearing a homemade Starfleet redshirt? What gentle magic makes some treasures live forever while allowing others to die?!

We’re going to trace the path from the information that is stored and available on our database back to the tabletops and vendors that sell the merchandise. We’re going to search for and educate you on some of the rarest treasures out there while remaining true to the moves of the modern marketplace. Our aim is to give you a bird’s eye view of every corner so that over time you can trace a path to any collectible whether you’re in the attic or on the floor.

Making Collecting Better

We’ll do so with our usual array of tactics and a few others we have up our sleeves. We have some familiar and trusted authors returning to dazzle you with their knowledge and creativity. They’ll bring the convention circuit to you this year, providing firsthand access to exclusive interviews and entertainment updates. This means more video coverage for you right here on this page and a re-approach to our YouTube channel in the works. It all adds up to more engaging content for you.

We have had major auction houses churning out absolute fire so far this year. Expect continued weekly updates on what’s happening at Heritage, Hake's, Goldin, and Metropolis as well as a proper dig in to some lesser known but rising vendors in the collectibles world. Only inclusion will help the hobby expand and GoCollect wants to see no one left out of the conversation.

There have been several newsworthy stories that have broken over the past several months in our hobbies that we will be exploring more in depth. GoCollect knows that the records we keep assist you greatly as a collector, and now more than ever those records have become crucial pieces of information in much larger stories.

To keep the temperature balanced, we will rekindle the ever-popular hottest and coldest comics lists, as well as keeping you informed on what’s trending in the funny pages. Comic books are at our core and always will be. These market lists will be sure to expand in to alternate fields of collecting because, like I said earlier, there is no limit in sight to our vision and our potential going forward.

Sealed and Slabbed and Guaranteed

GoCollect stands for transparency, fairness and fun above all. Our media strategy will reflect the accuracy and rapid fluidity of an evolving collectibles market, with heavy emphasis on the joys of the story.

If we do leave any stones unturned, please, mention it directly to us. As the Editor of this very important and popular source of news media I promise to maintain an unbiased and tasteful approach towards content. This sentiment is shared by each and every member of the GoCollect Team. We are truly honored to have become such a trusted and valued friend to you.

Where we go from here will surprise us all.
