The September Premier Auction at PWCC Marketplace closed last Thursday, and let me tell you - it was a fun night for NFL and NBA cards! Multiple records and interesting price points were set in the auction. Here's a look at a few of the most exciting sales.

Kirk Cousins’ 2012 Orange Pylon rookie parallel from Panini’s inaugural football Prizms release sold for $3,780 to become the QB’s highest-selling trading card to date.

This orange holofoil rookie issue features Cousins during his first year in the NFL after he was selected by Washington in the fourth round of the draft. Beckett graded this one-of-one card a Gem Mint 9.5.

2020 Panini Prizm Black Finite CeeDee Lamb ROOKIE 1/1 #334 BGS 9.5 GEM MINT (player record for public sale)

CeeDee Lamb’s 2020 Panini Prizm Black Finite rookie parallel sold for $14,100 Thursday night to become the wide receiver's highest verified trading card sale to date.

This BGS Gem Mint 9.5 record setter continues a growing trend for these Black Finite Prizms. Just last month, both Jordan Love and Justin Jefferson’s Black Finite issues set player records as well.

1997 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems Terrell Owens PMG GREEN /15 #22 PSA 5 EX (player record for public sale)

Terrell Owen’s 1997 Metal Universe Green PMG sold for $9,600 Thursday night in PWCC’s September Premier Auction to set a high-sale record for the wide receiver.

This 7/15 example earned PSA’s Excellent 5 designation, an impressive feat for such a highly condition-sensitive issue.

1986 Fleer Basketball Michael Jordan ROOKIE AUTO DNA 9 #57 PSA 8 NM-MT (grade record for public sale)

A PSA Near Mint 8 example of Michael Jordan’s autographed 1986 Fleer rookie issue sold for $162,000 Thursday night to set a for-grade record for the card.

Only three examples have been graded higher than this Pop 6 issue, putting it in the top 13% of all autographed examples of MJ’s iconic 1986 Fleer rookie.

2005 Exquisite Collection John Stockton Magic Johnson LOGOMAN AUTO 1/1 BGS 9

Magic Johnson and John Stockton’s autographed 2005 Exquisite Collection Logoman issue sold for $43,200 to set a high-sale record for the card.

This dual-signed issue features game-worn NBA Logoman patches from both Johnson and Stockton, two of the greatest guards in league history. This one-of-one masterpiece earned PSA’s Near Mint 8 designation.

1995 Skybox Premium Meltdown Michael Jordan #M1 PSA 10 GEM MINT (card record for public sale)

A PSA Gem Mint 10 Michael Jordan 1995 Skybox Premium Meltdown insert sold for $21,900 to set a high-sale record for the card.

This record-breaker hails from the ten-card Meltdown series included as one of the 12 insert sets within the 1995 Skybox Premium release.

Collectors found one of these condition-sensitive Meltdown inserts once every 54 Series 2 packs (or 1:48 jumbo packs), making it the scarcest insert from either series. Only 16 examples of Jordan’s Meltdown card have earned this PSA 10 designation (3.1%).

NOTE: The PWCC Sales History shows if a payment on a final sales price is still pending. When a payment is received, it is updated as a final sale in the history tool. In the rare case where a payment is not received, the entry is removed from the sales history.
