PWCC has several key issues drawn by Mark Bagley up for auction in its weekly auction ending on July 9th, including several that Bagley appears to have autographed. Let's take a look at a few of those issues.

Born in Germany, Mark Bagley became one of the most famous artists to ever work on The Amazing Spider-Man series. Assigned to The Amazing Spider-Man title in 1991, Bagley had big shoes to fill as he followed in Todd McFarlane and Erik Larsen's footsteps. Partnering with writer David Michelinie, Bagley created Carnage, one of Spider-Man's (and Venom's) greatest enemies.

Amazing Spider-Man #361 (Marvel, 1992) CGC 8.5

This is unquestionably the most famous issue that Bagley ever penciled. Containing the first appearance of Carnage, a fan-favorite villain, this issue is one of the most important issues of the Modern Age.

In general, this comic's value has been on an absolute roller coaster during the past three years. In early 2020, prior to the pandemic-fueled "comic boom" of 2021 and the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, a 9.8 copy of this book generally sold for just under $400. Once the trailer for Venom 2 hit Youtube and the comic boom, this book's value went through the roof. In early 2021, this book reached an all-time high sale of $1,348. This book's value then began to plummet for two straight years. It appears to have hit bottom in the $400 to $450 range.

This green label 8.5 is a difficult book to price. If Bagley's signature were verified, and this was a yellow label 8.5, then this book could sell in the $200 to $250 range. If CBCS were to verify Bagley's signature, it might sell in the $150 range based upon signed CBCS copies that sold roughly two years ago. As is, an identical green label 8.5 that has an unverified Bagley signature sold for a mere $48 back in May.

As of Friday, July 7th, the current bid on PWCC is $56.

Amazing Spider-Man #362 (Marvel, 1992) CGC 9.0

This book features the second full appearance of Carnage and continues his origin story. This green label 9.0 is also difficult to price accurately. If this were a standard blue label 9.0, you could expect this copy to sell in the $50 range.

Although there hasn't been any recent sales of a yellow label 9.0, based on recent sales of yellow label 9.2s, if Bagley's signature were verified, it might sell for around $110. As is, an identical green label 9.0 that has an unverified Bagley signature sold for a mere $35 back in March.

As of Friday, July 7th, the current bid on PWCC is $33.

Amazing Spider-Man #363 (Marvel, 1992) CGC 8.5

Amazing Spider-Man #363 concludes Carnage's first major storyline. This green label 9.0 is also difficult to price accurately. If this were a standard blue label 9.0, you could expect this copy to sell in the $50 range. Although there haven't been any recent sales of a yellow label 9.0, based on recent sales of yellow label 9.2s, if Bagley's signature were verified, it might sell for around $110. As is, according to GoCollect, the FMV for a green label 8.5 is $38.

As of Friday, July 7th, the current bid on PWCC is $22.
