Happy May the 4th Star Wars fans! This time of year is a ton of fun for nerds across a multitude of galaxies. Not only do we have May the 4th, but we also have Revenge of the 6th -- which falls on Free Comic Book Day this year! For as long as there have been wars in a galaxy far, far away, there have been collectibles. For this May the 4th and Revenge of the 6th, let's look at some new and vintage Star Wars collectibles, perfect for every Jedi and Sith out there!

Luke Skywalker 40th Anniversary Legacy Lightsaber

When you think of Star Wars, a few things likely come to mind. The characters, and the iconic lightsabers. These powerful laser swords have a firm place in pop culture history and have become collector's pieces. This new lightsaber at shopDisney was inspired by Luke Skywalkers' saber in Episode VI, and the details are impeccable. This example comes with the hilt, blade, and display stand. This lightsaber is a limited edition and is currently selling for $249.99.

While this lightsaber is still available, some lightsabers go for serious money. Galaxy's Edge inside both Disneyland and Walt Disney World sells unique, limited lightsabers that can only be purchased there. They range in price, but on average they cost around $250. In April of 2023, an Asajj Ventress Legacy Lightsabre sold for $1,550.

This lightsaber has been retired, so if you missed out on it in the parks, prepare to spend serious money. The Ahsoka Tano Legacy Lightsabers were available in the parks in January of 2023 -- my partner bought them for a little under $500. The same lightsabers have now sold on eBay for $849 in May of 2023, and $899 in April of 2023. With the new Ahsoka series coming out soon, these prices could go up further.

Marvel Comics Star Wars #1

Released in July of 1977, Marvel Comics didn't have to take much of a gamble on this series thanks to the licensing agreement. This comic marks the first appearance of a number of main characters, including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Darth Vader. This book started to see a price increase in the summer of 2020, and while prices have dipped, this is still an important key book for both collectors and investors.

Currently, the one-year average for a CGC blue label 9.8 is $4,474, while a 3.0 has a one-year average of only $142. If you're a high-grade chaser this is still an affordable key. If you just want this book for your collection, a lower grade is the way to go.

Loungefly Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Death Star Crossbody Bag

I've talked about the collectability of Loungefly backpacks in the past, and my position on them still stands. Loungefly makes other unique bags, such as this Death Star-shaped crossbody bag. While it is no moon, this bag is perfect for fans of the Sith. Currently, this bag is retailing for $75, an average price for Loungefly bags.

Certain bags can become collector's items, and go for double the MSRP on eBay. In March of 2023, a Porg-shaped mini backpack only available at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 sold for $374.99. In April of 2023, The Mandolorian Armorer mini-backpack and matching wallet sold for $250 on four different days. While we never know which Loungefly will become hot items after they are discontinued, these are still a ton of fun to collect.

LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Fighter

LEGO sets have the potential to become highly sought-after collector's pieces -- especially with the right IP. LEGO has released a number of popular Star Wars sets in the past, and as of May 4th, the general public will be able to buy their newest Ultimate Collector Series X-Wing Starfighter. LEGO VIP members are able to purchase the set now, which comes with a number of fun freebies from LEGO. This set is priced at 239.99 and is suggested for builders aged 18 and up.

As we've seen, LEGO sets can be very popular. LEGO set #101 23 Cloud City is one of the hardest sets to come by thanks to its inclusion of the highly collectible Boba Fett minifig. This set was released in 2003, and depending on the condition, can sell for thousands of dollars. In March of 2023 an unopened set sold on eBay for $9,499.

In February of 2023 a similar example sold for $7,500. If you're only interested in the Boba Fett mini-fig, they have sold for anywhere between $350 to $1,550.

Star Wars home items

If you're just looking to add a little Star Wars flair to your home, there are some great items out there for you. The Mandalorian Geeki Tiki mugs are simply awesome. I have a full set of Star Wars tiki mugs in my home, and they're a hit at parties. You can start your day off with this one-cup Star Wars coffee maker, and don't forget about welcoming your guests with this Yoda welcome mat.

There's an entire galaxy of collectibles out there. What is your favorite Star Wars collectible? Let us know in the comments below, and May the 4th be with you!
