The Collector Connection recently announced their 13th Semi-annual Comic & Non-Sports Card Auction. Having been in the business since 1983, and online since 2018, they are primarily known for sports cards and memorabilia. But they have made quick inroads into the comic world. The auction began on May 28th and runs until June 15th at www.thecollectorconnection.com.

"Our first comic auction was in July of 2020, so not quite 5 years ago, and we had 1000 lots that sold for a total of $13,000. It was a ton of work for very little reward, but we were in the learning stages. Fast forward to the present and in 2024 we had several individual books sell for more than the total of that first auction, including two different copies of Phantom Lady #17 from different consignors in separate auctions. We have set several records for the grade on some really cool books. To say the growth has been phenomenal is a huge understatement." Said principal owner Scott Russell.

The current auction doesn't quite have anything on the level of the Phantom Lady #17, but it is loaded with great Golden Age comics including a nice selection of EC titles like Crime Suspenstories #22. While the company is known for their focus on vintage there are keys up through the modern era as well, with a great amount of books in between the two extremes including some great Silver Age keys like The Brave and the Bold #28 and ASM #14.

It's always exciting to have a quality player enter the market as it gives collectors more reliable options, and not just for buying. Russell says "While the comic hobby doesn't know us as well as the card hobby, we have quickly established the same reputation for quality and integrity that we already enjoyed in the sports world. We get compliments for our grading of raw books as well as our packaging - every auction. Our consignors love us because they always deal directly with me. While we haven't added a lot of Cons to our schedule yet, we're hoping to be out and more visible in the near future."
