Doctor Aphra and Silk charged through the Hottest Comics rankings this week while the Silver Surfer gossip pushed one of his keys back into the spotlight. Here's a look at the Trending Comics from the last 10 days.

The Hottest Comics are more than just data points. It’s a cross-section into the buying habits of the collecting world as seen from the vantage point of the world’s most popular auction site, eBay. While it may be tempting to look at the top-10 bestsellers and move on, prodding deeper into the index can give you clues as to what the next collecting wave is coming. Take a look at these Trending Comics.

11. DARTH VADER #3 (+49)

This week, Darth Vader #3 kicked in the afterburners to zoom through the Hottest Comics rankings. The catalyst was Black Krrsantan, who made his surprise live-action debut on last week’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett.

With that added attention on the bounty-hunting Wookie comes a renewed interest in one of his frequent employers and cohorts, Doctor Aphra. While there is no official word on her live-action status, the consensus for years has been that she will be introduced to Disney+ in the not-too-distant future.

Now that Krrsantan has arrived, that could pave the way for her, and that has sparked a new round of speculation for her first appearance in Darth Vader #3.

27. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #4 (+22)

With both the live-action and animated Spider-Verses opened wide, it has left the speculation market for those Spider-keys at an all-time high. Any and all Spider-Verse characters are fair game for either the MCU or the Spider-Verse animated movies, which makes them prime investment speculation targets.

Take a character like Silk, whom Sony confirmed will be getting either a live-action show or feature film, and you have a recipe for investment potential. Of course, this issue peaked a couple years back when Sony first broke the Silk live-action news.

This week, the Hottest Comics is evidence that there is a renewed interest in her first appearance thanks to the Silk speculation.

42. THOR #1 (+34)

The buzz is building for the fourth Thor movie, Love and Thunder.

The world is waiting for the first trailer, which should give us our first look at Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster lifting Mjolnir.

As the anticipation builds, it is no wonder that collectors took to eBay to track down 2014’s Thor #1. The new movie is expected to be loosely based on Jason Aaron’s Thor run, which began with this issue and gave readers their first looks at Lady Thor.

Over the past 30 days, Thor #1 has jumped over 30 positions to climb back into the top 50.

87. SILVER SURFER #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

It’s a new year, and that means a new round of gossip surrounding Silver Surfer.

Since Disney acquired all the Fox properties and gained the rights to the Fantastic Four and its family of characters, fans have demanded the Surfer.

His name crops up every few months, and the latest rumor is that he could be part of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Although that seems like a long shot, it was enough to drive sales for the Surfer’s first solo comic.

92. STAR WARS: THE HIGH REPUBLIC #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

The Book of Boba Fett has stoked the flames of what was already a hot Star Wars market. For the past month, collectors are aiming for those first appearances in the hopes that one or more new faces will arrive either in BOBF or another Disney+ series.

The High Republic is one of the newer additions to the Star Wars pantheon, and it offers an entirely new world within the mythos from far, far away.

The theorists are certain this will make it into either the animated or live-action realms, and that speculation helped it crack the top 100 over the past 30 days.
