There’s been plenty of live-action news making the rounds as of late, and it’s causing waves that are rippling across the market. No surprise, it begins and ends with Wolverine.

The buying trends revolve around the movie and series news, and it’s an ever-changing beast. Announcements are made practically by the week, so there’s always a new comic that has buyers’ attention. At the same time, it leaves plenty of issues falling to the wayside. Let’s take a closer look and see what’s making moves this week.

5. WOLVERINE LIMITED SERIES #1 (+2)

Hugh Jackman’s been posting pictures of his Wolverine workout as he prepares for Deadpool 3, and fans can’t get enough. In all likelihood, this is the last hoorah for the actor, who will be 55 in October. Judging by his physique, however, he could keep popping the claws for a few more years.

As the hype for the movie builds, it will keep all those Wolverine keys among the Hottest Comics. With Frank Miller making the comic con rounds this year, that will increase the sales for his absolutely masterful artwork for the 1982 Wolverine limited series. There’s also a Jackman mail-in signing event on the horizon, and that is undoubtedly another factor at play here.

24. INCREDIBLE HULK #340 (NO CHANGE)

Speaking of fan-favorite Wolverine comics, there’s Hulk #340. Who doesn’t love this cover art? Todd McFarlane was at the top of his game when he drew this masterpiece, and it remains one of the most popular covers in all of comics. With Jackman bringing his Logan to the MCU, the chance for a Hulk versus Wolverine live-action/CGI battle is much closer to happening than ever before.

Don’t forget that the Wolverine PlayStation game could also give us that huge moment, so there’s more reason than ever to want this comic.

27. AVENGERS #267 (-18)

Not all trends are positive ones. Here we have the start of the classic Kang storyline, “The Kang Dynasty.” Before Marvel announced that it would borrow the title for the next Avengers movie, this wasn’t a sought-after key. However, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania caused a massive spike in sales.

The trouble is the majority of Quantumania audience reactions have been blasé at best. Could that be a reason for the dip in sales for Avengers #267? Perhaps, but there’s no way of knowing for sure unless this trend continues in the weeks ahead.

30. MARVEL SUPER-HEROES SECRET WARS #7 (NEW TO THE LIST)

The cat is out of the bag, and actress Sydney Sweeney’s mystery Madame Web role has been revealed. In the upcoming film, she will play Julia Carpenter, who happened to be the second Madame Web in the comics. However, before she became the Spider-verse’s resident clairvoyant, Julia was the second Spider-Woman, donning the character’s first black and white suit.

Will we see her as Spider-Woman or Madame Web in the Sony-verse? Either way, it’s putting a premium on her first appearance.

69. DAREDEVIL #131 (NEW TO THE LIST)

There’s plenty of speculation surrounding the Daredevil: Born Again castings. We know that Charlie Cox, Jon Bernthal, and Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise their characters for the series. What other familiar faces could join them remains to be seen. In the third season of the Netflix show, we were introduced to Bullseye, who took Kingpin’s spot as the show’s more interesting character.

Could we see him return on Disney Plus? That is the question, and it appears to be driving sales for his debut in DD #131.
