Across the Spider-Verse continues to dominate the box office. Of all the characters in the film, Miguel O’Hara has stolen the hearts of many, which creates a buzz for his key issues.

With Miguel’s newfound mainstream popularity comes major tremors in the secondary market. As buyers chase down his key issues, it’s sending his early appearances to the top of the sales charts. In the market for a few? Let’s take a look at the current values.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #365

This has long been the go-to collectible for Miguel O’Hara fans. Following the main story, readers were treated to a preview of Spider-Man 2099 #1. Not only does this introduce the world to Miguel and his super-cool original costume, but it also opened up the world of Marvel 2099. That could be of significant importance going forward, especially if the third movie gives us a deeper dive into Miguel’s origin story.

While the issue is certainly hot, the fair market values have remained consistent. So far in June, the graded 9.8 has averaged close to $200, and that’s likely where it will stay going forward. If you happen to own the coveted newsstand edition, that particular 9.8 is earning between $800-$900.

SPIDER-MAN 2099, VOL. 1, #1

While it may not be Miguel’s official first appearance, it has become the most popular of all his key issues. Besides being the cheaper alternative to ASM #365, the cover art is classic ‘90s Marvel Comics. It also happens to have the gimmicky cardstock and red foil on the cover, and that is always good for nostalgic collectors.

This has been one of the hottest issues on the market as of late, and it shouldn’t cool down for at least a few more weeks. If you must have a graded 9.8, you’ll be paying top dollar for the time being. For the past month, it’s averaged $160 with the most recent as of this writing hit $175 on June 9.

SPIDER-MAN 2099, VOL. 3, #1

In 2015, we got a revamped Spider-Man 2099 complete with an all-new costume. Chances are, we will see some version of this suit in Beyond the Spider-Verse (or whatever it is Sony has titled this one). Considering it’s a trilogy that revolves around the Multiverse, my guess is that we will see a Miguel variant sporting a new suit. It could result in a nice Miguel versus Miguel battle sequence. As popular as he’s been after Across the Spider-Verse, who wouldn’t want to see more Miguels?

Need a copy to call your own? The graded 9.8 has a $108 12-month FMV, and it has sold for as much as $206 in that time.

A WHOLE NEW WORLD

There’s bigger implications at work here than just Miguel and the next movie. We’ve already gotten a 2099 Easter egg in Loki, and we’re likely to get a peak into Earth-928 In Beyond the Spider-Verse. Since Across the Spider-Verse is clearly connected to the MCU, anything from the 2099 timeline could be fair game for either an animated spinoff or possibly a live-action Marvel Studios project.

If the next Spider-Verse movie reveals any other Earth-928 characters, then we will see huge waves across the secondary market.
