Media Release -- Dark Horse is pleased to announce the promotion of former assistant editor Brendan Wright to associate editor!
Wright, who celebrated his fourth year with the company in September, will now take on the full-time responsibility of maintaining a balance between the needs of creators, copyright holders, and the publishing company. His new position as associate editor entails project management, facilitation, and problem solving.
"Brendan has been doing great work for years assisting on key Dark Horse books like Usagi Yojimbo, Mass Effect, and Conan. He really earned this promotion by bringing in the Eisner-nominated short story 'The Speaker' by Brandon Graham for Dark Horse Presents, and working with Matt Kindt on MIND MGMT, and I'm excited to work with him to grow that list of accomplishments," said Dark Horse president Mike Richardson.
As associate editor, Brendan will continue to assist on and coedit several titles, while taking a larger role on many of them—including Conan, Creepy, Eerie, and Usagi Yojimbo.
He will also be editing more of his own titles, including MIND MGMT; Archie Archives; Jughead Archives; Tarzan Archives; Korak, Son of Tarzan Archives; The Curse of Dracula; Men of Steel; and several others.
"There are very few editors that can be all things to all authors. But Brendan is one of the few. Every creator has a different idea about what they want in an editor and Brendan is well aware of this. I genuinely consider him to be a true collaborator. Or in my case specifically . . . a conspirator," stated MIND MGMT creator Matt Kindt.
Please join us in congratulating Brendan Wright on his past accomplishments, and wishing him luck in his new role in the company.
