A new set photo has curious Deadpool fans wondering if these characters could be making their MCU debuts.

There’s nothing quite like an interesting prop on the set of a Marvel Studios production. The fun is guessing where it could lead, and Ryan Reynolds and the crew have given comic book fans something to ponder.

In the latest set photo from Deadpool 3, the actor is seen sans mask standing by an old hatchback. Inside the car, collectors and speculators are buzzing about the mask near the driver’s seat.

The simplest explanation is that it’s Reynolds’ headgear, but where’s the fun in that? The much more interesting assumption is that it’s a Deadpool kid.

Considering the movie takes place across multiple timelines and dimensions, the theory makes sense. Plus, seeing a Deadpool carpool with tiny versions of himself will be hilarious. That will have speculators and collectors alike taking a closer look at some key issues.

DEADPOOL #6

It’s a fine tradition among the Weapon X graduates that their DNA is cloned. So it was that Widdle Wade was created by the Yakuza as their personal assassin. Like the real Deadpool, he had a healing factor, and he had enhanced strength and agility. Since Wolverine’s clone, X-23, made her live-action debut in Logan, it would be fitting for Deadpool to introduce his clone in Deadpool 3.

Not many graded copies have traded hands as of late. The highest grade sold online this year was a 9.2 which brought $40 in April. There hasn’t been a 9.8 sale since one went for $97 in August 2022.

DEADPOOL #50

It was in 2001 that readers met Kid Deadpool. Don’t let the name fool you; he’s not a toddler like other smaller versions of Wade Wilson. Chris was a teenager looking for revenge after his father’s death. Being the kind-hearted Merc with a Mouth that he is, Wade gave Chris a spare costume and trained him to be a cold-blooded killer.

As recently as June 14, the graded 9.8 earned a cool $120. Last year, it sold for as much as $146.

PRELUDE TO DEADPOOL CORPS #2

Another possibility is Kidpool. He’s exactly as he sounds: another kid version of Deadpool. Kidpool is from Earth-10330 where the cute version of Wade Wilson attends The Xavier Orphanage for Troubled Youths. Three years after his debut, Kidpool would die in Deadpool Kills Deadpool #2, which is only fitting for the title.

There haven’t been any graded sales on record. Chances are, you can find a copy in your local comic shop’s dollar bin. In fact, the last eBay sale for a raw copy was for just $0.99. That’s less than the cover price, so you might as well add it to your long boxes.

GOING HARD CORPS

The hot rumor is that Deadpool 3 will be poking fun at virtually every Fox X-Men and X-related film ever made. There’s even gossip that Channing Tatum will finally get to cosplay as Gambit. With the Multiverse at the heart of Wade’s latest action-comedy romp, the next logical step would be to have the Deadpool Corps join the fray. That could even lead to a bit of redemption for Wade’s awful treatment in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
