Diamond's Top 25 Toys for January 2013

Media Release -- The Joker's main squeeze Harley Quinn features in Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's best-selling video game Batman: Arkham City, and DC Collectibles' recreation of the character for their Batman: Arkham City — Harley Quinn Statue was January's best-selling toy production to direct market retailers.

Square Enix also reached the top of January's sales charts with two figures in their Batman: Arkham City Play Arts ~Kai~ figure line based on the game. The Catwoman figure ranked #2, and the Batman figure ranked #3.

Bowen Designs' Deadpool Action Statue, depicting Marvel Comics' Merc with a Mouth, ranked #4.

Diamond Select Toys' Star Trek: Uss Enterprise NCC-1701-B ship, depicting the Excelsior-class starship from Star Trek: Generations, ranked #5 for the month.

Enterbay had two products in the top ten, both based on Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy — the Batman HD Masterpiece Figure ranked #6 and the Joker HD Masterpiece Figure ranked #10.

Kotobukiya had two products in the top ten — the DC Comics: The Huntress Bishoujo Statue ranked #7 and the DC Comics: Superman "The New 52" ArtFX+ Statue ranked #8.

Rounding out the top ten, Titan Entertainment's Doctor Who Titans Mini-Figures ranked #9.

Data for Diamond's sales charts – which include the monthly market shares and all top product charts – are compiled by Diamond Comic Distributors from a universe of over 3,500 accounts, comprised of comic book specialty shops and other merchant stores and buyers. The shops are primarily located in North America, with a percentage of sales also to international stores and buyers located throughout the world. The account base includes not only brick-and-mortar comic book specialty shops, but also Internet stores, chain stores, and other specialty stores.

Unit and dollars sales are calculated based upon orders invoiced and shipped to Diamond accounts during any given month, which comprises initial pre-orders, advance reorders, and reorders, minus any copies that are received back from a title marked as returnable.
