Media Release -- Tails, the original webcomic by Comeback Kings artist Ethan Young, is finding print life at Hermes Press as a graphic novel in early 2012.
Tails follows the redemption and exploits of Ethan, a vegan hippie with super powers (sort of). It's High Fidelity meets Scott Pilgrim as Ethan deals with family, relationships, and litter boxes, all while struggling to break out as a cartoonist. But when Ethan's comic book creations start talking back to him, things get really interesting for the hapless artist...
Young began syndicating Tails online in 2009 and has garnered a loyal fan following, one he heavily considers when translating the webcomic to print.
"I'm really excited to be working with Daniel Herman and Chris Irving on Tails," Young says. "I feel Hermes Press will do a great job with the book, and I think both new and old readers will love what's to come. Couldn't be happier."
The first volume will feature a slightly revised version of the original strip, with a few added pages to better accommodate the single volume format. There are plans to follow it up with another volume chronicling the further misadventures of Young's protagonist as he stumbles towards his goals and slowly uncovers the truth about the mysterious other world that is slowly becoming as real as the waking one.
Tails is one of the first of a growing line of original graphic novels and comic books coming out of publisher Hermes Press within the next year.
