Holy smokes! We are thrilled to announce that cartoonist Jeffrey Brown (Incredible Change Bots–pictured, right, Unlikely) is joining our Fourth Annual SDCC Autograph Card/CBLDF Auction event! This is the fourth year in a row that Brown has supported the First Amendment Rights of the comics community in this way. See last year's sketch, below!
The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund was founded in 1986 and covers the legal expenses of comics creators, publishers, and retailers when they are unfairly accused of charges such as distributing obscenity. It's a cause that's more important today than ever before, and TFAW is proud to have helped raise more than $75,000 in the past three years.
Brown's bittersweet and touching autobiographical comics from Top Shelf Productions, like Clumsy, have led to international acclaim, and his hilarious recent books, The Incredible Change Bots and Darth Vader and Son, are close to our hearts.
We'll be taking Brown's sketch–and all of the incredible sketches donated to the CBLDF through us this year–and creating free, limited-edition autograph cards that we will be distributing at SDCC this year. Stop by booth #5625 to pick up your set, and make sure to stop by the CBLDF Auction July 14!
