Nexus events, more Lokis, and even vampires all crammed into Loki episode 4. Let’s break down some Easter eggs and get you pointed in the right collecting direction. CAUTION: SPOILERS AHEAD.

Loki’s newest episode gives us plenty to unpack this week. From Nexus Beings to vampires, there were many nods and allusions to the greater MCU that could set the stage for a range of events in the future.

On that note, join me as we explore three Loki Episode 4 key issues that are sure to feel the heat from Loki.

KID LOKI

Most theorists saw this coming from the first episode: the live-action debut of Kid Loki.

During the mid-credits scene, everyone’s favorite Loki variant finds himself in a decimated New York City complete with a destroyed Avengers Tower in the background. As he awakens, he encounters four new characters. One of those appears to be an African-American version of Thor, while the other three - including an alligator - are Lokis, complete with horned crowns.

Out of all four characters, the most comic-accurate is Kid Loki. He first appeared in Thor #617, and that will cause a massive spike in that issue’s FMV, not that it needed one. Due to speculation that Kid Loki would be part of the show, prices have been swelling this year. On June 6, a 9.8 for the standard cover sold for $415, and the same grade for the Tron variant brought $400 in May.

NEXUS BEINGS

Nexus Beings and the Nexus of All Realities have been hot topics in Marvel circles since WandaVision’s Nexus commercial. Now we are getting closer to the MCU confirming the Nexus Beings, and that could trigger a whole line of events since Scarlet Witch is a member of that exclusive club. It could also get us one step closer to Man-Thing’s long-awaited debut.

The Nexus of All Realities was first mentioned in Adventure into Fear #11, which will make that a prime target for collectors. Earlier this month, a 9.4 sold for nearly $396. The only other graded copy to sell in 2021 was a 9.6 when it sold for $400 in January.

VAMPIRES

With Blade on the MCU horizon, it is no secret that vampires are part of the MCU. Thanks to the latest episode of Loki, that has been fully confirmed. In the fourth episode, Mobius is speaking with B-15, and he mentions dealing with all manners of beings, specifically vampires. This is a clear nod to the upcoming Blade movie, and it opens the door for the living dead in the current MCU.

No individual vampire was named or alluded to, but I suspect this will directly impact values for what has become an increasingly hotter key, Tomb of Dracula #1. After all, Bram Stoker’s Dracula was the original vampire story, and there is plenty of speculation that the Marvel version will appear in the MCU.

Even at a 3.5, TOD #1 has been selling for $200 in May. At the high end, a 9.8 reached a record-high $7,500 earlier this month.

EASTER EGGS AND MORE EASTER EGGS

When it comes to Marvel Studios and the MCU, the Easter eggs are as much as the movies and shows themselves, and Episode Four delivered. Where these will lead is anyone’s guess at this point, but it will be a fascinating ride, no doubt. Who knows? Maybe Throg, the Frog of Thunder, is on his way soon.
