Collectors are tracking down those Cassie Lang keys as they roll the dice on a Marvel Legends Build-a-Figure reveal possibly spoiling a huge MCU moment.

Whenever there are rumors and theories, speculators are always advised to take the information with a grain of salt. No matter how convincing it may sound, there are no guarantees.

That goes double for the action figures. As we have seen multiple times now, Marvel may utilize its Legends figure lines to promote its latest movies, but they tend to toss in a random character or two that aren’t in the films. Anyone who invested in Sleepwalker’s keys ahead of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness remembers that sting all too well.

That being said, the latest Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania wave of Marvel Legends has an interesting Build-a-Figure.

Put all the pieces together, and it would seem she follows her father’s footsteps in activating her giant mode. Not that we didn’t see this happening in Quantumania, but some theorists are taking this as another sign that Cassie is the future of the Ant-Man franchise. That has collectors taking a gamble on these keys.

MARVEL PREMIERE #47

Clearly, this is not one of the riskier options on today’s list. It’s been a hot commodity since Paul Rudd introduced Scott Lang to the MCU in 2015. Besides Marvel Premiere #47 giving us Scott’s first appearance, we were also treated to the debuts of Cassie and the MCU’s current M.O.D.O.K., Darren Cross.

Even if Scott doesn’t survive the events of Quantumania, Cassie’s upgraded stature (pun intended) will keep this issue thriving on the secondary market.

A-NEXT #1

This could be the issue that gets the biggest boost thanks to the Build-a-Figure speculation. In Astonishing Ant-Man #6, Cassie took up the role of Stinger in the main Earth-616 Marvel Universe. However, the first time readers spotted Cassie as Stinger was in the alternate-reality storyline of A-Next #1.

Similar to the What If…?, this is not considered canon, but collectors still tend to target these as first appearances.

YOUNG AVENGERS #2

On the surface, this issue is an important milestone in Cassie’s character development. It was here that she discovered her superpowers, which will obviously be a factor in the new movie in one fashion or another.

Another factor is Iron Lad, who is one of the many Kang variants. In fact, Young Avengers #2 is where he learned he was destined to become the time-traveling conqueror.

YOUNG AVENGERS #6

As we have seen in the trailers, Cassie gets her own Ant-Man costume while traveling through the Quantum Realm. There’s little doubt that she will keep her new superheroic role, and the indication is that she will take on the moniker of Stature rather than Stinger as she did in Young Avengers #6. In fact, Kathryn Newton, who plays Cassie in the movie, tweeted #stature in 2020, which definitely points toward her taking up the new title.

CHANGING OF THE GUARD

The writing is on the wall for Cassie to take on a larger role in the MCU. Ever since she was aged up five years between Infinity War and Endgame before being recast for Quantumania, the speculation has been that Marvel is ready to make her a star. Whether she will be a Young Avenger or not remains to be seen, but that does seem to be the indication.
