You know that feeling you get when a book you own all of a sudden gets really hot? That rush knowing that everyone is chasing a book you already so proudly have in your collection? Yeah me too! and I LOVE IT! But how do you make that happen? Simple, jump into the Blue Ocean, and look for books that others have forgotten.

Here are 5 Blue Ocean books I believe will rise in value down the line...

5. Avengers #196 - 1st Full Appearance of Taskmaster

When the trailer for Black Widow dropped, this book was all the rage. Seeing Taskmaster on the big screen made everyone want a copy. Even now a 9.8 will run you anywhere around $1,000 or more. However, since the focus on this book has diminished, many raw versions are selling for much, much cheaper. Two books were recently sold, one on 9/17/20 and one on 9/18/20. Now I am no grader but visually they appear to be about a 7.0 and above. The one on 9/17 sold for $85 and 9/18 sold for $62.50. Imagine scoring a 9.0 for less than $200! They are out there, you just have to know where to look. I think when the movie FINALLY comes out, this book will definitely see another quick spike. So get it while you can!

4. X-Men #4 - 1st Appearance of Omega Red

Speaking of Black Widow, Omega Red was rumored to be in the movie. How true that is, who knows, but it would be cool. With the X-Men coming to the MCU down the line, this will be a book to snatch up. Remember seeing Omega Red in the 90's X-Men cartoon? He was one of my favorite X-Men villains, and he had a very rough history with Wolverine. So one can only assume that he will make it to the big screen in due time. Right now, you can grab a graded 9.8 for under $200. The most recent 9.8 was sold for $141.50. Now, will this book become the next Ultimate Fallout #4? Heck No! But it will climb once there is more concrete news about him appearing. I personally would buy this now, but only to flip in the future.

3. X-Factor #6 - 1st Full Appearance of Apocalypse

Known to be the first mutant, Apocalypse is one not to mess with. With Kang announced in upcoming MCU movies, there is a good chance Apocalypse will make a comeback. Apocalypse has a history with not only Kang (known then as Pharaoh Rama-Tut) but with most of the mutants ever to exist especially the X-Men. Although to be honest, I can't see this book rising too high in value down the line, it is still a great grab. Sales have been up and down for the 9.8's. One sold on 9/11/20 for $294.99 while 3 days earlier a 9.8 sold for $550. Most sales have stuck around the high $200 range but as you see, you can still make out like a bandit on it.

2. Fantastic Four #19 - 1st Appearance of Pharaoh Rama-Tut and 1st use of "Nuff Said" by Stan Lee

Just the fact that this is the first time Stan "The Man" Lee says "Nuff Said" is more than enough reason to grab this book. But to continue on with this Blue Ocean theme, this is the first time we see Pharaoh Rama-Tut. Rama-Tut is a time traveler better known as Kang the Conqueror. With all the buzz floating around, we could see a future movie involving the Pharaoh in order to bring in Apocalypse. This book is starting to catch a small rise but there are deals still out there to be found and made. As of me writing this, a 4.0 is valued at $200 with a 6.0 hitting $400.

1. Marvel Premiere #47 - 1st Scott Lang as Ant-Man (in costume) and 1st Appearance of Cassie Lang

I'm sorry but I loved Ant-Man and Paul Rudd was amazing! Granted, NOTHING beats Michael Pena's way of telling a story. However, there is talk about the Young Avengers coming out as the new team down the line.  She even starts to develop a crush on Iron Lad, better known as, yep, Kang the Conqueror! This is a must-have for any Avenger fan. The good thing is, you can still grab a nice graded copy in the mid to low 9's for under $200. Once Cassie is announced or Ant-Man passes, this book will rise. I believe that this book will have a steady rise and more than likely stay where it lands. So grab this now while it is still within reach.

Blue Ocean Bottom Line

I wanted to give everyone a chance to grab some Kang key books as well as two other books that might rise in value. Personally, I believe these 5 have great potential. They are great to own and great to flip if bought very soon. We all love this hobby and many of us have a huge passion for it. But why spend extra when you don't have to? Focus on books that people have forgotten about, so when they remember and prices jump you are ahead of the game. A prime example is Ultimate Fallout #4. I remember people selling it for only $50, then once news about Miles broke, it literally skyrocketed in minutes! Now try to find one at that price again. So keep your eyes open for deals and play the game, don't let the game play you.

Till Next Time, Happy Hunting!
